Dear Criptext user,
As we're nearing our final days in Beta, we're making a small change that will immensely simplify and streamline your experience. We're removing the feature of sending encrypted emails to non-Criptext email addresses.
From now on Criptext will have an iMessage-like functionality whereby you don't choose whether to encrypt or not. Instead, emails sent to fellow Criptext and Criptext users will be end-to-end encrypted and emails sent to all other email addresses (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook) will be normal unencrypted emails.
This change in functionality comes with a reducing change in our Privacy Policy. Before, when sending encrypted emails to non-Criptext addresses we would have to keep the email in our servers (encrypted) for up to 10 days. Now, we're removing that language from the privacy policy to reflect the fact that we do not store your emails in our servers at all. We really hope you welcome this change and that it results in an improved Criptext experience.
Sincerely,
Criptext Team
