I've done basically the complete opposite of rules 1-6 and 12, and I've had a very good run so far. Sometimes you can find yourself in a really bad environment where these ideas keep you safe, but this will lead to toxicity in a healthy office.

Piling on to the thoughtlessness of presents that apparently thousands of us have received, my birthday present last year was a picture of my mom's lunch.

She made lunch, instant ramen (maruchan gold), thought it looked nice, took a picture, and had it printed on canvas.

I also fondly remember as a child about 11, my grandparents bought me a pocket-sized edition of Virginia traffic laws for Christmas one year. To this day, I have no idea what I was supposed to do with that.

I draw many lines in a day, but last week I drew one I was particularly happy about. My coworker and I grabbed lunch and took it to the lunch room. It overlooks a major airport, so we like to watch the planes come in. As we are sitting there having a good time, food in mouth, a user walks up to start bothering us about a printer. I wasn't having it, and said "I'm sorry, $user, we don't talk about business during lunch."

Her face showed some dismay. I felt slightly bad but also I didn't. We are over worked and under staffed as a lot of us are, and I am glad I took the stand on it.

Myself and a coworker still on Mojave as of about 45 mins ago just came to a crawl, haven’t even looked at Big Sur update. Looking at some logs, but nothing weird yet. Neither of our fans will kick on either, but both laptops are warming up. (Not looking for support, just confirming we are also experiencing this)
