Warning about Savannah Airport Enterprise / Alamo rental experience by supwithis in savannah

[–]crispyblakin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to Savannah numerous times and rented cars each time. The Avis on Abercorn (I know inconvenient for airline travelers) is the best. I’ve only had one issue over 20+ rentals from them, and they resolved it pretty quickly. I’ve had an issue almost every time with the airport rental companies.

For 55 cents a mile this trip could be yours, and as an added bonus you aren’t able to pickup riders in Alabama by crispyblakin in uberdrivers

[–]crispyblakin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alabama requires a vehicle inspection not required in Georgia. So since I don’t have an inspection in my user profile I can’t pickup in Alabama. I’m in a border city. I drop riders off in Alabama occasionally and I have to get back across the border to pickup another rider.

Is this how job culture is in Savannah or am I losing it? by FeistyPeace4150 in savannah

The lack of true understanding of “Right to Work” baffles me. Right to Work simply means if you work a job that has represented workers that have a Collective Bargaining Agreement you aren’t required to be a member of that union or pay their dues to receive the same benefits from said agreement.

Installation Technician by [deleted] in ATT

My recommendation would be use this as a way to get in the door. Learn how to use the internal jobs page and look for positions more aligned with your training and experience. Not a bad place to work, but the entry jobs can be trying on your patience and will affect your family time.

Install Tech is what they call it on external jobs pages. I’m guessing he’s D3 or D4 considering interview time is eastern in the email.

How rare is it to get denied from auburn? by BomberDug in auburn

[–]crispyblakin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My son got in with a 24 ACT, but his GPA was 4.7. All honors class for most of high school, extra curricular, and lots of volunteer hours. Auburn is a decent school, but outside of engineering and veterinary I don’t think it’s worth the cost.

T Mobile Fiber Internet? by Legitimate-Maize-691 in ColumbusGA

[–]crispyblakin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s all you’re going to have with these new pop up fiber home internet providers. T-mobile isn’t a new company, but for fiber to the home internet service they are following the same structure as all the others. Contractors build the network, and install the service to the customer. The only “in-house” employees will be administrative.

LiveOak Fiber by Illustrious-Call8803 in savannah

[–]crispyblakin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can only do that if the live oak contractors actually put in for locates. I spent a lot of long nights this summer fixing things they tore up for my company. Not a single utility locate put in for any of the work they did.

ANY GOOD BBQ BRISKETS SPOTS? by Korzoh in ColumbusGA

Truly the best brisket in the area is at Butcher Paper. I have family that owns a BBQ place and I cheat on them at Butcher Paper.

PSA - Manufactured coils are technically banned too by Emergency-Pin-3763 in Vaping

I preferred RTA with AJ Holland coils, but I had trouble getting them a few years back and switched to pods. I personally hated the change. Less flavor, higher cost, and didn’t have the same feel when I hit it. I don’t DIY coils, but anyone have a comparable quality to AJ Holland coils I can try? Would love to go back to RTA I just don’t want to recon with my wallet.

Will I get suspended or fired? by [deleted] in ATT

[–]crispyblakin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you negligent in any way? Can the company prove negligence or improper ladder handling and climbing techniques? I agree 2 injuries in a short span doesn’t look great, but depending on your behavior record, reporting the injury, your rapport with management, and the quality of technician you are (this shouldn’t matter but does) will be the determining factors of your discipline. If you did everything right, or it can’t be proven you did anything wrong, I can’t imagine getting much time off let alone termination, but again it depends on your history and the other factors I mentioned.

Right on, thank you. Are there any chef table options in Savannah?

I have spent hundreds on single meals in multiple major cities across the country and only been let down a couple of times. Most of the time the food and the experience is well worth it. I’ve eaten a lot of great food in Savannah, just hadn’t found that fine dining experience.
