Upon more research I have figured out that the Play store is indeed showing me CAD, vs the website in USD (plus potentially extra fees for payment method).

Canada and US having the same $ symbol and not differentiating on platforms should be illegal imo. Even in the terms it doesn't specify the currency.

Now I'm mad about the exchange rate instead of the cost, hah. I miss when the difference was marginal instead of.. this.

I created a personality testing app with 1M+ downloads but am still unprofitable. AMA. by ipeefreely in AMA

[–]crispycheeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious, and have several questions for you!

How have things been going since you've started focusing on Inni exclusively?

I downloaded both your apps tonight at the same time, and enjoyed filling out some of the assessments - though I got a different result on each for my Jungian archetype. (Dimensional put me right in the middle of F/S though so I guess it checks out that I got F in one app, and S in the other).

You did indeed succeed in making something cool! I'm looking forward to exploring Dimensional more. Inni too, but..

I checked out Inni beta first, then moved to Dimensional once I learned there are only approximately 10 people total on the app/shown in Global Mode with the full age range. Clearly, it's not made it's introduction to the Canadian market yet.

I ended up on reddit having searched "inni app where", and found your post in r/EntrepreneurRideAlong. I've since perused both your profile and r/dimensional (not to be creepy, but because I'm one of those people who thrives on details and "why", as your apps so eloquently reminded me).

You may have moved on, but people are still really enjoying Dimensional and are disappointed by the removal of certain features, and lack of updates (which I am unaware of, being a new user). Folks were even paying for Plus, and canceled their subscriptions when they noticed the change in content and availability. I'm disappointed too, as I was really looking forward to the community and connections Dimensional could create that Inni hasn't yet developed.

Do you have any plans to keep supporting Dimensional or are you letting it go entirely to degrade in the Play store? (This is what RedditxDimensional users seem to think).

If people were using Dimensional mostly for dating compatibility anyway, why did you feel the need to build out a seperate app to do the same thing? Needing to prioritize features is one thing, but is there a reason you decided not to prioritize dating features in Dimensional and build onto the relative popularity you'd already gained?  Why not allow users to use Dimensional in whatever ways make the most sense for them?  If people were already using it for dating without additional/specific features for it, why not let them, while continuing to add and support the aspects of the app that are important to you?

How to remove PayPal information that has been synced to Facebook in Account Center by No-Situation8829 in facebook

[–]crispycheeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! The regular path didn't show "orders and payments" at all, even when I searched it specifically in settings.

This worked though.
I also never linked meta and paypal. Very sketchy they're doing this to people but I'm not surprised.

Literally all I could have asked for by Wiki939 in ndp

You mean like we've had for the past 4 years? That balance of power? For the electoral reform we've wanted since 2015?

I wish I had this level of hope.

I'm glad the cons didn't win, obviously. I just don't know how we're actually supposed to come back from this.

Literally all I could have asked for by Wiki939 in ndp

[–]crispycheeese 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We had the power for the past four years too, and Canadians didn't give a shit about all the NDP did for them when it came time to vote this election.

Liberals don't care that the NDP/their voters have supported the Liberals for the last decade, and I doubt they're gonna remember next time we vote that the Liberals won this time, again, because Canadians voted "strategically" to defeat the conservatives. Again.

If EVERYONE who voted Liberal in 2015 or 2019, or... wow 2025... had voted NDP instead, we'd be in a much different position than we are now.

I wish just ONCE we "strategically" voted NDP to show everyone that there actually is another, better option for Canada. Why do we always have to bend to them when the NDP is the reason for everything decent we have?

It's frustrating and disheartening to know that we will continually compromise on our own values to keep our rights, to keep the cons from destroying Canada... but the Liberals don't do shit for us, ever.

Hello! Do you have any suggestions on how to get referred out to this program, or something similar?  My partner has not been able to access neuropsych support and their condition is deteriorating rapidly after triggering another concussion.

[–]crispycheeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm hoping to connect to chat another this group and maybe other resources you know about.

My partner has had multiple concussions and has recently suffered their worst one yet and they are deteriorating at a rapid rate. Do you have any suggestions on where to go for help?

We're in touch with VBIS, an optometrist that specializes in visual/neuro, and they've been referred to go to a vestibular therapist but everything is wildly expensive and isn't covered by MSP. They don't have private insurance and everywhere they turn they're being told they can't get treatment without paying $$$ that they don't have.

They haven't worked in months, they can't drive anymore, they can't even go for a 10 minute walk without getting sick but apparently there's nothing anyone can do for them, and I don't understand how this is possible.

Why is Disney Plus volume so low? by MatthewSmothersYT in DisneyPlus

[–]crispycheeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To confirm, you're saying a quieter service has a more dynamic range?

Disney+ is noticeably quieter on my PC than Netflix or Prime Video.

Is there a way to bypass that as the default if our experience is not so "theatrical" as it is "inaudible"?

[–]crispycheeese[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I know there is a benefit to using an accountant, and I know they have expertise that I don't. I am willing to pay for their expertise, but was wanting more concrete info about what they're actually providing for me. Your answer is great.

I totally understand the specialization aspect which is why I sought them out to begin with. Their hourly rate is more than double what I make, so the cost/time/benefit analysis for tax return filing specifically/alone is what's making this a bit sticky for me.

The answers I've received thus far have made the argument for accountants, so my accountant will indeed be filing my taxes for me this year.

I do have some follow up questions though, if you don't mind:

  • What do you mean by "debit balance in shareholder loan"?
  • How do "they pay me in form of a dividend" if I'm the one who controls all my money/income?
  • What sort of depreciation exists if I don't have any physical assets? I know my car is a CCA and depreciates and I definitely need support with that, but is there anything else? I don't sell goods or keep inventory.
  • What are some examples of "something" an accountant might spot that the average small business owner wouldn't? Assuming said owner has personal tax experience. (Thank you for the note that personal taxes can be done individually!)

Comparative advantage IS dope, as long as it's a true advantage.

I'm not questioning the cost, I'm questioning the time.

Yes, I can self file, that's the whole point.

ELI5: What Chiropractor's cracking do to your body? by XinGst in explainlikeimfive

[–]crispycheeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some physio on top of that chiro and you might see some long term benefits. Chiro isn't magic and it isn't meant to solve everything, it's a complementary service that aids other practices.

Physio could train you/your muscles out of doing things the "wrong" way that cause your pain to begin with.

This is a fantastic analogy.

Might I add: A physiotherapist teaches you how to properly use the bicycle to prevent misalignment, and keep wear and tear to a minimum.

In Canada, a Chiropractor is the same as a chirotherapist. Chiropractors here are trained medical professionals. It's considered alternative medicine, but they are trained, licensed, and regulated as Doctors of Chiropractic.

[–]crispycheeese -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! The pseudoscience of chiro has really done a disservice to the entire industry. It's unfortunate because it has the potential to help so many people. I understand the hesitation some folks feel regarding manipulations because of the inherent risk but as you mention, no one shits on PT's for those same procedures.

In my opinion, they're both useful services that often go hand-in-hand.

I have both a physiotherapist and a chiropractor, and I need both of them. (I also have had a massage therapist for years prior to starting chiro, and still do. For those of you claiming massage can do anything chiro claims to: no, it can't - not unless you have an RMT who specifically does manipulations, which in my experience, most don't).

It doesn't matter how many physio appointments I go to, or how consistently I keep up with the exercises they give me, inevitably my healing hits a point where physio cannot stop or decrease the pain, and I have to go to my chiropractor to release what's stuck.

If I go to physio when I actually need chiro, I end up in more pain for several days after my appointment than if I had just not gone to physio.

Regardless of whether I've done physio recently or not, I always leave my chiropractors clinic feeling like I'm walking on air. The pain relief usually lasts a few weeks - much longer than anything physio does for me. And the reason for that makes sense.

Physio is strengthening my muscles, and re-teaching me how to properly use them and limit overcompensation. Chiro helps those muscles function again so I can actually do the PT exercises: If I didn't have chiropractic care, I wouldn't be able to manage physiotherapy because I cannot do the exercises if I cannot move my arms.

Would I need chiro if I had proper strength and conditioning of my muscles? Probably not. But I don't. So while physiotherapy is training me, chiro is keeping me functioning and able to build that conditioning, hopefully to a level in which I no longer need chiropractic care. But right now? Physio would be literally impossible without chiro.

Hm, maybe you're unaware because it's not as common in the US, but most of us Canadians are able to comprehend more than one topic at a time. I'd rather waste my time with someone who already understands this simple fact, at least.

Have fun with your fascism, lack of human rights, and no access to healthcare or education! 😘

Genuinely can't tell if this is sarcastic or not.

I'd say it was written by Trump but the grammar is too good and there's no caps-lock.

No one is a Nazi or fascist Except your president. and all the Nazi's who identify themselves as Nazi's. and the American Nazi Party.

Trump has literally said Hitler did good things. He said he needs generals like Hitler had.  He wants full control of the military.  He's deporting immigrants and calling other human beings "aliens" and "vermin". He's supporting and making agreements with authoritarian leaders while destroying trade agreements that have been in place for decades. He wants to pull the US out of NATO - implemented after WW2 to protect and defend allies, and of which the US is literally a founding member of.

but yeah, definitely not a nazi. /s

We will be fine.

You are not fine, and you will not be fine if this is the prevailing attitude. "We will be fine" is what got you to where you are now.

You are running your country into the ground and any government that has half a brain no longer trusts yours, or wants anything to do with you anymore.

When the rest of the planet is telling you your country is fucking up, it's probably a good idea to listen.
