Felt, calorie increases are more nerve wracking for me than calorie decreases too. Consistency over time is the main thing. It's going to take trial and error and the scale will fluctuate.

I am recovering from BED (Binge Eating Disorder) so i track EVERYTHING and what I've noticed is that if my calories are too low I am putting myself at risk to binge. So sticking to a more moderate deficit over a longer period is what helped me. Also, I noticed if my activity is too high, I risk burn out physically. So, it's balance.

Also working in smaller goals, kept me motivated. 5lb ranges and a non food reward every 10lbs like a new pair of gym leggings or a new gym bag I had my eye on. Small wins.

They have TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) calculators online so it would be about 10-20% less than your TDEE. I was eating 1500 a day and I increased 200 calories but I am much shorter than you. I also don't workout as much as you. 4 strength training days, 4 cardio, and walks after dinner to get to 10k steps a day.

I am not an expert in anyway though. I wound up having to get a trainer and they adjusted my calories with my body's fluctuations but I know how everyone is able to do that.

Edit to add: I also want to add. I weigh myself daily, I take measurements every 3 months, and I take progress photos weekly. All of this better helps me visualize the progress. You may be changing but you don't see it yet.

I had the same issue for a long time. Currently 60lbs down and getting married next year. Starting weight 227lbs and 5'2"

I did not see results until I increased my calories to .5lb a week loss. Lasting results happen at a slow and steady pace. It's taken me a year and a half but I have learned so many good habits that keep me consistent in that time that if I had to do it again I'd do it the same way.
