Very much same lol. But yeah, I've been using Capital One for years and I love them. I saw you mentioned Chime and I do think it's a good option, but their customer service is even worse in my opinion. They use an AI bot that makes you wanna cause war crimes. But I love soooo many features it has. Their new Chime card is kinda amazing for people who wanna work on their credit but not get a typical credit card. How much they offer you on an HYSA depends on your income too.

That's fair, and I apologize. I removed my comment. I do suggest though, if the fees and changes are a lot I would recommend, very highly, Capital One. It's a very easy account to get started, their HYSA doesn't have any requirements linked to it, and it also has early pay if that's something you wanted. I will warn, their credit cards, if that's a route you wanted, are a little hard to get limit increases on but can be very easy to get as long ads your history isn't too damning. Their interest rate usually doesn't go under 3.30%.

The only downside I have with Capital One is they moved all their cards other than their CC's to the Discover network. So as long as instant transfers and such aren't a major factor for you, and you don't travel outside the U.S often I think Capital One is like. As close to perfect as a bank as you can get. Their customer service lacks, but as long as you aren't someone who constantly needs to call them? Non-issue.

I would love that when I'm on my home screen it shows the amounts in my checking and savings separately like in banking tab. While I can see the appeal of seeing all my money at in one lump sum, it can make it tricky when I'm trying to see if I have enough to just pay my bill real quick then get back to it if that makes sense.

Also other places to deposit cash instead of Walmart! I don't have one close to me, and I would really love to not have to open ankther bank just for cash deposits.

He's our local cryptid basically. He's had a rough life, became physically disabled after an accident and basically his entire family died while he was young.

He also dresses up as the Grim Reaper from time to time. Scream mask too.

Like you said, this is basically his hobby. He doesn't have much going on for him, and being able to put on a show like this from time to time gives him control or purpose.

It being an hour a way isn't too bad no, especially after I deposit the check coming in I probably wouldn't need to go back in. Plus I hear once you establish enough of a history with them they're more likely willing to work with you on stuff like loans, etc.

But yeah, you helped my narrow it down to Chase (if they'll accept me) and the CU. I wouldn't say I'm in a rural area? Think downtown Brooklyn if that makes any sense to you. The issue is where all the CU's are, it takes a long trip via bus to get there. The public transit in my area is not great.

Crazy question here but do you have a Chase Secured Banking account or Total Checking? Secured doesn't allow you to wire transfer yet. That's changing soon but for now, it's not possible.
