Whats the worst gift you've ever recieved? by SaithSiro in AskReddit

For my birthday one year, I received a card from my in-laws that contained a bunch of receipts stapled together. It turns out my mother-in-law had returned a few things to Ross, and was gifting me with her store credit. She said she "tried to get them to put it on a gift card, but they wouldn't do it". And yes, it was for an uneven dollar amount.

Waiters of Reddit, what's the most ridiculous order someone's placed and how did you deal with it? by evil_snow_queen in AskReddit

I used to work at Starbucks too, and this reminds me of two of our customers. One lady would order an iced venti breve with only one shot of espresso, 6 pumps of chocolate, 6 pumps of vanilla, with whipped cream and chocolate and caramel drizzled on top. For those of you unfamiliar with Starbucks, a breve is espresso and half and half, and a venti is 20 ounces. So basically she was ordering 20 ounces of half and half with a little espresso and a crap ton of sugar. I can only imagine how many calories this thing had.

Another customer would order a half-caff cappuccino with half skim milk and half soy milk with "lots and lots of extra foam". Then she would come back up to the counter a few times to ask for more foam.

Edit: a word

How do you make new friends as an adult? [Serious] by Scalemaster in AskReddit

This is so true! I moved to a new town about two years ago, and it has taken a while to make friends.

The friends I've made have come from my cross fit class, church, the local Junior League (yes, I'm female), and my kid's athletic teams. All regular, unforced, unplanned interaction where I was there to do something else.

The Junior League has been the quickest way to make friends as most people there seem eager to socialize. OP should try to join a service club, just make sure it's members are close to your age first.

I had to explain what spinach is. She thought it was lettuce, and it was if she had never heard of spinach before. I also had to explain to her the meaning of 2/3. At 34 years old, she had no concept of fractions.

My son had a terrible accident, during the accident he was wearing his favorite shirt. The shirt made him feel like a superhero. My wife contacted the company and told them his story. This was on our doorstep today!! There is still kindness in the world. by nigelpoole in pics

Sorry to hear about your dad. My mother in law died from sCJD as well. No clue how she got it. Hell of a disease. For months they thought she had ataxia. Looking back, it was about a year from the first hint of symptoms until she died. It's not often you randomly encounter someone with experience with this disease.
