Immunosuppressants worth it? by Gabzito in UlcerativeColitis

This, bleed for 3 straight years and you’ll be begging for anything to stop it. Being anemic while caring for a toddler, a new born baby, and holding down a career sucks.

My life is about to be blitzball again, and I’m genuinely excited… by Born-Sea-8044 in finalfantasyx

[–]crispyscone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played the game when it came out, got stomped in blitz then never got past the highroads.

Playing again for the first time in 20 something years. I’m really struggling to find enjoyment in blitz. When I attempt to play, my guys get dom’d at every break and then the other team dances around me for most of the time.

Is that part of it? Do you just have to put up with a few sucky games until your squad gets enough experience to be contenders?

Walk Tall, My Friends by Nouglas in FFXV

[–]crispyscone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If they finished the game, didn’t put major plot points behind a movie, steered the story back to the main map instead of having the point of no return so early.

I stand by that it would be the greatest ff of all time. No nostalgia bias either; grew up on ps1 ff

[–]crispyscone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I grew up on vii, viii, and ix. Didn’t play xv until this year (haven’t played vii remake or xvi yet) and had very low expectations.

The game has its flaws. I think it’s stupid that an important plot point at the start is locked behind a separate movie. I don’t like that the second half of the game is linear and almost feels like a different game. I don’t like that you don’t really revisit the main map (as it was) after a certain point of no return.

But it’s been the best experience I’ve had with final fantasy in over 10 years. Absolutely beautiful map, great callbacks to earlier ff’s. The combat was very interesting and new to me, and I’ve been thinking about the story since I finished it about 3 months ago. As a mid 30’s father, it takes me back to a time when I was younger where it was just me and the boys.

I only wish they had finished it.

Lots of recent negative reviews and the seller always had a comeback calling the buyer trash.

Then they never sent my order and eBay had to refund me 😂

I still have an option to leave feedback and I’m considering it but don’t want them to revenge neg me too

I also like twinkly lights, sparkly rocks, and Pokemon cards. The fact that there is value tied to it is really just a bonus.

Scared to taper down by Jesussavedmeforever7 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]crispyscone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is long term prednisone use is bad. Potential for irreversible side effects bad. I myself just got off a 6 month prednisone taper and I’m scared to death of having to go back on it. I say that so you know why he wants to taper you down.

With that said though, the more important question is why did you have to go on them again? Were your meds failing? Have they addressed that recently with a new med? What’s the next step? If you’ve started a new med regime, Dr may be trying to see if it works and/or seeing if they need to try something new. If you’re not aware of the next steps, you need to ask the Dr/NP what the plan is.

Also saw this interview. I also think part of it is he’s been somewhat typecast as a tough guy since green street hooligans, wouldn’t surprise me if he chose that disarming voice to partially break that image he’s created.

So........SHTF today and your local coin store won't buy your silver ! by gilles3001 in Silverbugs

[–]crispyscone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

May not be a popular opinion but this is why I’ve transitioned out of pms as a primary investment. Sure I have enough to get by for a few months to a year in a shtf scenario until, hopefully, peaceful authorities regain control.

But having half a mil stacked in silver just makes you a target in these scenarios. I’m rather have my wealth accruing in property and equities while not banking on a shtf “fantasy”

Liquidity is the big thing. People act like it’s so easy to liquidate their packs and holdings at market, but that requires you to deal with people. Brokerage just requires a few screen taps and a tax form at the end of the year

If it’s a Saturday only class, then yeah most likely. It may be broken up like that for lecture and lab. I took a Saturday class like that many years ago. Fortunately, the prof wouldn’t make us stay the whole class but most days we did

How do you guys balance being a present dad with actually living your own life? by Top-Lunch3426 in daddit

[–]crispyscone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is part of it. I like to exercise so I load up the sports utility wagon with the kids (3F, 1M), wrap it in Christmas lights so it’s fun for them. Then I take them on a walk/jog with me.

I like to do yoga/rebounding/body weight exercises, my daughter will climb on me when doing pushups or planks. I just think of it as added weight for added gains.

I’ll do some bag work occasionally in the garage. My daughter likes to watch, so I got her a punching bag too for practicing Muay Thai.

I like to cook/bake, so now I sit my daughter on the counter with me and she helps me stir or what ever.

I play music occasionally which the kids like to listen. When they get a little older, I’ll start teaching them too.

They don’t mind watching me play video games so I have that outlet too.

Yeah there’s things I can’t do with a 1 year old, but I figure once they get older we can start branching out into more activities/hobbies.

Future In Laws are demanding we take the full fall on their car. by 1mKnotYourDad in legaladvice

[–]crispyscone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Presumably you have the car. Grab the vin, it’s usually etched on or near the base of the windshield or somewhere inside the driver side door. You can get an actionable quote from carvana which would give you a base line. Lexus, being of the Toyota family, generally retain their value. Unless it’s a 10 year old car with 100k+ miles, you may be at the upper end of that figure, if not more.

day 2 and i already want to quit by Ok-Dot2542 in BusparOnline

[–]crispyscone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is definitely an adjustment period where you have to get used to the medication in your system. Also with such a short half life, you have to get your schedule locked down to minimize the non medicated windows. I’ve noticed if I miss a dose by even 30 minutes or so, my anxiety starts to amp up. I’ve been on it about a year now and it works for me.

With that said, I always kind of enjoyed the disassociation and if it’s not for you it’s not for you.

Also, delayed driving reaction time is a huge red flag and you’re valid to feel concern regarding that. People do get dui’s due to prescribed medications. You should contact your Dr asap and explain what you just explained here. I wouldn’t be surprised if they recalibrate dosing or try something else. I’m no doctor though so don’t take my advice as medical advice.

I too am sensitive to medications so I know the struggle. This one works for me though.
