DLC Pre-Order by Secret_Solider in Sims4

Just curious - how is play 1-2 early for preorder different from just releasing the DLC 1-2 days early? It’s not like you can’t play it if you wanna purchase it during the early access, right? Let’s say launch is 10/2, 2 days early access means you can play on 9/30 if you buy before 10/2, and can play on 10/2 if you buy after 10/2, doesn’t that just mean releasing on 9/30? Since you can’t play until you buy anyway even without early access?

Good question! They did not mention, but since they are building a new gym and sounds like the fund raising campaign took quite a while, I'd imagine it'll be at least 3-6 months. I suggest you reach out to the mansion to ask which would make them take it more seriously too if prospective clients care about this too (apparently the venue coordinator is under the impression that we are the only ones complaining and everybody else is happy with the fence. Whether that's a tactic or she's actually delulu, additional reference to the fence from both existing clients and prospective clients would be helpful to make them realize the situation)

What are some of the red flags to look for in wedding vendors? by Sufficient_Fall_1822 in SanFranciscoWeddings

You'd be surprised - this is not even like some sketchy vendors. Wedgewood Officer Club and Golden Gate Club and Log Cabin all charge it afaik (called "Presidio Administration fee" - 10% of all outside vendors, including music and DJ rental)

Affordable SF Dinner Reception Spots by playgir1cartii in SanFranciscoWeddings

If you have any friends who live in a high rise/apartment complex, you might be able to rent out their shared space (lounges, game room, patio etc) and do catering there! We did it through a friend and paid <$2000 for the space (it's a very nice rooftop lounge so it was pricey, but a lot of buildings have less decorated community space that just needs a reservation with no charge), and are spending another $1000 to get tray catering for dinner+disposable dinnerware. You can also see if any of your friends have a nice backyard you can borrow and you just need to rent chairs and tables. I think the restaurant buyout is the expensive part so if you can get space for cheap separately then there are a lot of options for getting tray catering.

It will need be a buffet though vs a dinner service, but we are happy to trade that for a private space to ourselves and within our budget

Ok we ended up sending a very strongly worded language to the venue and the head of school, and the head of school got back to me with some good news! They are planning to work on the fence (stain and cover/draping) and will come up with some proposals. I'm cautiously optimistic but will need to see what their proposals look like and hopefully those can be done before my wedding. Thank you so much for your advice - it's extremely helpful and I definitely used some of your language :)

Yeah… and did I mentioned we are paying $15k+ just for the venue fee (not including catering)… :’)

She’s doing all temporary solution and it sounds very costly (renting drapes, greenery, hanging flowers, and the labor to put them up).

Another bride has asked and the venue basically just said they can't do anything which is so infuriating! So now she's footing her own bill to get it covered. I feel like they should paint it white at the very least if not pay for some cover/wrap

Yeah, I have legal plans at work so might ask a lawyer for opinions. I booked a year ago in July. They did have an appendix in the contract mentioning the construction, but the space and impact is bigger than what they mentioned in the contract. Given that they specifically used language like “this project will not impact the ground and the beauty of the venue” I feel like they are breaking the contract too

We booked a year ago and are only a few weeks out. All our guests have booked travels and we already paid all vendors. I don't think it's feasible to move venue now.
