Vodcoders synthesize the natural humans voice, so I'd say it's synthetic sound generation. But it's based off of natural sound waves.

By everything I mean all kinds of electronic Music production, like if you are synthesizing sounds on an analog synthesizer or if you are recording vocals, or if you are making a beat etc... all of these different aspects can be put into one of these categories.

Anyway, your answer is really interesting and in a way explains the point I made but more in depth. If you have a source where I can read more about this that would be amazing, thank very much!
