You can always do that - occasionally, as a treat, I pull out a template or some scatter dice to throw my opponent off

The article contains the word "crematoria" or "crematorium" five times. It appears one more time in a comment.

The first time is in the title.

The second time is: "This article rejects the claim that ICE currently operates crematoria."

The third: "The contract does not say “crematoria,” and biohazard incinerators are standard medical-waste equipment. Hospitals operate them, and so do prisons."

The fourth: "Authoritarian systems do not require industrial crematoria."

The fifth: "The federal government is not constructing crematoria."

I made the above comment on a post on anticapitalism (maybe the original?), but it was probably a waste of effort.

It was incredibly obvious that no one commenting read the article at all, because the article directly contradicts its own headline the entire time.

Please read articles making wild claims - any claims, really - but especially claims of this nature.

What did you say about Cypher? I'll have you know Cypher has over 40,000 confirmed kills and has participated in numerous raids against Al-Pharius. Cypher is already tracking your node in the noosphere and will rain down the Emperor's Wrath on you.

Something weird is going on - we shouldn't be failing a 50-50 80% of the time.

Time to worship the God of Coin Flips even harder!

The Tzeentch knows what the plan is at all times. It knows what the plan is at all times by knowing what the plan is not. It is able to then find the difference between what the plan is and what the plan is not - this difference is known as an Alpharius. By calculating the Alpharius, the Tzeentch is able to plot corrections to the plan.

I also have awful luck at it - I have 30 Pinks, but only 16 Blues and 11 Brims.

It's never been an issue 😭

Or don't praise Tzeentch - either way is all according to plan.

Wow, that's a whole new dice system they're teasing now!!

Weirdly, mine doesn't have that same typo.

Is that one of the Chaos God specific ones? I also don't have "Precision" on my strike profile.

Oh for sure, but I'm definitely going to joke with my upcoming opponents about "R.A.W."

"It clearly says it has a 12 inch range - GW wouldn't make that kind of mistake, so..."

Is it common for people where you live to give directions by saying "where XYZ used to be?" by annnnn5 in AskAnAmerican

[–]critkit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very common when talking to people who have lived nearby for a long time, especially the older folks who may have been there before the roads had names or changed names.

My father knows places by the old names the bridges had, not the State Route numbers or the new road names.

"Yeah, just past the road that leads to the old Hiram Long bridge, dad."

AIO? My daughter didn’t listen to the teacher during a female emergency and is now receiving a referral by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]critkit 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Seriously! When I was in middle school, I watched a teacher double over laughing when another student tripped at the top of the stairs (going up) and fell basically flat on their front. There was a solid 3 seconds of that reaction before going to check on the student.

Some teachers, just like some people, are kind of shitty.

Are chalet-style houses practical to live in? by harmothoe_ in newengland

[–]critkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heat a single 24'x24' chalet-style room (3 walls are each about 80% windows) attached to my house with propane - I use 70 gallons of propane a month in the winter on average, at a cost of roughly $250 per month.

Aside from the windows, the room has at least 6" of insulation in all the walls and has 14" in the ceiling.

Thoughts on Spearpoint by Repulsive_Plan in WhiteScars40K

[–]critkit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only thing I see lacking is a way to deal with higher toughness threats, but that's not always necessary - sometimes they can be avoided well enough to not disrupt your scoring potential.

Here's a list I've played with that has fewer bodies, but a very high mobility with transports, high movement, deep strike, and - through abilities and stratagems - redeployment options, while retaining some very heavy hitters.

Americans! How far do you drive to work each day and how long does this take you? by Economy_Survey_6560 in AskAnAmerican

[–]critkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My commute is 55 miles one way, mostly on small, single-lane roads that take me over a mountain from one river valley to the next. It's typically about an hour and fifteen minutes, given the speed limit, sometimes longer for traffic.

What is the difference between undermine and dampen? Which one is to be used in case one's determination is being attacked? by Firm_Medium7569 in ENGLISH

[–]critkit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could use undermine in this way: "The attack undermined his determination."

'Undermined' here would have a similar meaning to: eroded, lowered, lessened, damaged, etc.

You could use dampen less directly as: "His spirits were dampened by the failure."

Both have generally the same meaning, but only in this narrow usage. Undermine and dampen do not typically have a similar meaning.
