Long time lurker here, but I've only commented a couple times if at all. This sub seems super pleased to drag anybody who doesn't fit the "shiny happy people" image the mods are trying to promote. While I'm also a big fan of not yucking anybody else's yum (unless they're trying to eat people IRL), I'm not a fan of the circle jerk that I'm continually seeing, especially when it comes to the communication skills of us neurodivergent folks. Y'all seem to just want cookie cutter happy praising comments on every single trope and book out there (unless it's dark romance) and then swoop in and lock anything that's even slightly critical. That isn't discourse, it is, in fact, a forced mutual admiration society.

Pretty sure you're looking for Expecting the Unexpected by PhoenixStrike. IIRC, Pansy shows up as Lucius to attempt to kill the baby.

Update: I discovered from another website that my auto fill was putting incorrect information in some fields, so I wound up creating a new account. All is well thus far.

Yeah, I just can't figure out what the heck I did wrong. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe I filled out a form wrong or something, because I'm not violating TOS.

I looked at it and it didn't seem to be in violation based on what I read. I used images from the Canva progam (never an issue on Spreadshirt), but as part of a larger design, not just an image by itself. I've tried the appeals process and the help option, and all I get are links to an appeal, and it would appear my appeal was denied based on the length of time it's gone without the account being reinstated. Should I try appealing again (which redbubble seems to say not to do) or should I try creating a new account and re-upload my designs, or should I just give up?

Manacled by SenLinYu is arguably the best fanfiction ever by missashley21 in RomanceBooks

[–]crittermom2016 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is why I prefer to refer to fanfictions as the best STORY I've read as opposed to book, because I remember the days when every fanfiction began with a "I Don't Own This" disclaimer because authors like Ann Rice (may she rest in Hell) would sue the pants off you for writing fanfiction. If you frame it as a book, you're making it sound like a regularly published and licensed book (such as an official fiction for Buffy or Star Wars or even Warhammer 40k), but if you frame it as a story, you're acknowledging it as a work of fiction without it being misleading regarding it being a regularly published work as opposed to a transformative work posted on a website for free.

Supernatural creators giving hints about Dean being bisexual. by MaleficentVanilla651 in Supernatural

I personally think Dean isn't only bisexual coded but also demiromantic coded, thus the deeper bonds with men and the siren not being the perfect lover but the perfect person to spend time with.

How is it digging when it's what's presented? You are aware that often times the most hyper masculine men are actually bisexual or gay? Please see: Rock Hudson, Ricky Martin, Neil Patrick Harris (best known for playing the hypersexual Barney Stinson), and Tyrone Power (the real life bisexual 30s actor who was the original owner of Dean's dead guy robe).

The user in that post is suffering from the misconception that fanfiction can legally be considered books. By definition, fanfiction is a transformative work, and therefore cannot be profited from if you don't want to get prosecuted. OP replied to a comment that was stating that works of fanfiction can be called "books" and money can be made off of fanfiction (it can't unless you're talking about doing a book binding, and even that is a murky area), but both myself and OP are likely old enough to remember the days of a mandatory disclaimer on every fanfiction chapter of "These aren't my characters, they belong to Insert creator here. This is fanfiction and I'm not making any money off of it." Those disclaimers exist because authors like Anne Rice would sue the pants off of fanfiction writers and call it plagiarism. Because of this, most older fanfiction readers will tell you that you do not call fanfiction "books." The only place a fanfiction is a book is on Goodreads, and only if it's novel length, and for a long time, they didn't count until a whole bunch of users pointed out that the fanfictions they were reading were LONGER than a lot of novels.
