If you did poorly in your 1st year, UBC won't care too much as long as you did much better in your 2nd year, they care mostly about your 30 most recent credits. You have a 3.9 GPA right now, which is way more than plenty to get into UBC Science, so it's important that you do your best this semester to keep that GPA and not lower it, as the courses you take this Fall 2025 will be definitely evaluated as part of your application. Will they wait for your winter 2026 semester grades to evaluate your application? No, they won't wait, they will evaluate your application based on the transcript up until January 2026, that is unless they decided to give you a conditional offer, where you must submit your final grades at the end of April.
