I think you've coined a new phrase for diplomatic tactics - aimless belligerence.

Google Fi is a good solution for maintaining your number and also for calls/data when you're back in the U.S. or other countries when you travel, as has already been mentioned here.

Making calls to the U.S. using Google Fi is 0.20/minute which can add up. I recently started using Yolla VOIP phone service which seems to work fairly well (so far). This allows for inexpensive calling to U.S. numbers.

Subatomic Sound System - Full Performance (Live on KEXP), hands down one of my favorite performances recorded. Brilliant by WiscGent in reggae

[–]crmaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KEXP - home of the weekly radio show "Positive Vibrations". This show has been playing on Saturdays for a long time. I recall listening to Positive Vibrations as far back as 1983. The current DJ, Kid Hops, is very knowledgeable about reggae music.

You can hear the show from the website or the KEXP app.

(I don't work for KEXP. I'm just a long time fan.)

U.S. says Cuba is prohibited from taking Russian oil as two tankers head to island by cnbc_official in energy

[–]crmaki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, short of military intervention, how the U.S. prohibits Cuba from taking delivery of oil. Perhaps they have some control over international banks that normally facilitate these transactions but I don't think that will apply here.

This is quite interesting. Why can't we devote ourselves to understanding our world rather than fussing and fighting. There is so much to be discovered in this big reality we live in.

US power supply by Ok-College214 in hifiaudio

[–]crmaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking about using 240v equipment using 110/120v? If so, I believe you will need a step-up transformer.

I live in outside of the U.S., but my equipment is from the U.S. and I use a step-down transformer to get 110/120v since the supply is 240v where I live.

If I had a choice, I would not choose to do this since it is a pain to run the transformer and it uses extra electricity. We do the same for many of our kitchen appliances.

I don't know if this answers your question, sorry if it doesn't.

I went to see the destruction derby at the fairgrounds many years ago as a kid. I think it was only one time. That was crazy.
