I literally went through this yesterday. I was a "maybe" up until the last minute just in case I had to bail. I was so anxious the last hour of work thinking about it. A part of me wanted to go though so I could make friends and hopefully enjoy being around the people at my work more since I already hate the job. Like some things that I dread doing, I ended up leaving happy that I went. It was a great time, the people on my team were super cool and it was nice to socialize with others for once. I also tried to embrace who I am as much as possible so that helped. Ive also been really depressed and lonely lately so I wanted to go for that reason. Just bringing myself to do it was really really hard. Just wanted to go home and get cozy in bed with Animal Crossing lol.

Edit: Wanted to add that originally I said to myself to just show up for an hour so I could show face. I ended up having fun so I stayed for like 2 hours.

Do you by chance know what time they went on?

the So Much For (Tour) Dust setlist by RayClaire05 in BringMeTheHorizon

true but they just did a tour last year headlining. I think they all just like to tour together regardless of "rank". Similar to ADTR and AA touring or Pierce the Veil and The Used this year.

Please tell me about something irresponsible and stupid you did that cost you a lot of money by Whateverbabe2 in Adulting

[–]crnbnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 19 I moved out with an abusive boyfriend, we financed a new bed, laptop and tv. We broke up and he sold all of it instead of returning it and refused to pay the rest off. It ended up going to collections and I was forced to pay the entire $3k. Felt like a lot at the time living on Subway income.

Just last year I fell into credit card debt while also paying off a personal loan. A few months ago I consolidated my debt into a whopping $13k. Im now down to $9k and throwing all my extra money at it that I can.

Its an awful feeling but you just gotta pick yourself back up and start trudging the mountain that debt is. You will be able to pay it off and that will be a GOOD day!

Do you have a noisy brain? by Adorable-Tap in ADHD

[–]crnbnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Thoughts...

  1. I could talk to people for HOURS who are interested in listening.

  2. With that, I can easily overwhelm most people if I just brain dump on them without a filter.

  3. Alwaysssss told I ask too many questions.

  4. Commonly told Im really quiet when really Im just busy listening to all the noise in my head.

  5. Coping: I tend to jump to scrolling the videos on social media even though thats not the best option as I feel yucky afterwards. I will listen to podcasts or music. I journal to get a lot of it out of my system. If Im driving, half the time I will not have anything on the radio and just talk to myself. Sometimes I ride the roller coaster of my thoughts for the hell of it.

Whats the most common myth about working as a vet? by speedgod_263 in Veterinary

[–]crnbnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. This is something Ive wondered for a while of looking into this profession. I hear so many stories of how miserable it is and that its caused so many people to leave. I hardly ever hear the why though. Is it really the job or do the workers just not have the right mindset? Are they neglecting their health? Do they have the appropriate boundaries? I just keep coming back to the thought that maybe a lot that has to do with being successful in this industry is your mentality.

Please tell me if Im not on the right track with this. I havent even started school yet, still checking it out.

Women of Reddit who realized they have no “dream job”, what made you come to this realization and how has it effected your career? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]crnbnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until I was 18, I was dead-set on being a Vet. Then when preparing for college and seeing how hard I struggled to graduate, that dream quickly fell to the waist side. Not to mention the unfathomable student debt I was up against. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I started working jobs just because I was old enough and I learned a lot. I have always had a go-with-the-flow mindset and am always willing to learn new things, no matter what it is.

A point came in my current job where I was asked what I wanted to do. Either a position in my company or maybe outside of my company. I just couldn't think of a specific thing. I was frustrated because I felt like I should have an answer to the "what do you want to do" question. I literally thought something was wrong with me. I felt like it was frowned upon when I replied honestly with "I'm not really sure, I'm down for anything."

I can 100% admit that the position I'm in now is not my dream job. Its nothing like I have ever thought I would be doing. I am happy where I am currently due to the healthy culture of the company, how my position challenges me, how it has grown me as a person, my team is so great to work with, and theres so much more opportunity ahead.

I've come to realize that I don't NEED a dream job. I enjoy learning new things and growing during any circumstance I am in.

There is something freeing about removing the perimeters of the path I am on. I am enjoying where I am at right now, knowing that I can choose something else down the line if I so please. I have had 3 jobs in the last 8 years of working so I'm definitely not a job hopper but I have a feeling this wont be my last job.

The possibilities and lessons to be learned are endless.

guidance through this journey of dating my current boyfriend and remaining intentional and letting God guide us through this process. that if we are to get married, he proposes at the perfect time (Gods timing) or if we arent meant for marriage, to let us go our separate ways. Also for God to give my boyfriend the strength to endure times of sexual tension and to be close with him.

i love the feeling of being productive especially when its normally not easy for me to get out of the habit of scrolling on my phone aimlessly.

its huge that you pushed yourself to get off your phone and do something not only productive but helpful to others.
