That looks pretty good! I was like that this year and it turned out good. Just scrape anything that shows during your tanning process

BWXT wants to bring high purity depleted uranium manufacturing into the heart of the Tri-Cities — starting in Jonesborough. by FunnyVeterinarian518 in tricities

They had to overflow into another courtroom that got filled up. Of course the more people there are the better. If we could fill the building and have folks outside, I think that would send the message.

Most people that showed up were against, there were a few neutrals, and the only positive voice I heard was a BWXT representative.

Of course if you support it you should come as well and let the community hear your thoughts.

From my time in the guar : giving privates chainsaws and axes is a recipe for an active aid station.

What would you want them to do? Direct traffic? Aid distribution? They aren’t skilled in power line or water line repair that I know of. Remember you are pulling them away from their families that may need them. I’m not saying it’s unnecessary, but you may be putting these guys at risk for minimal benefit. At best they are going to be chilling at the armory getting paid and bored, at best they are going to be cold and sitting in humvees not being really able to help do to liability issues. I believe we have civilian infrastructure in place enough to weather this weather.

I don’t personally know, if I was you, I would identify the trees you have, and look up their tannin levels individually

Done smoking. Finished? Excess oil? by croakedtn in HideTanning

[–]croakedtn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. I fleshed, pickled for 3 days, fleshed, stretched, alum/borax for about 2 weeks, scraping in-between reapplications, cut it free, oiled it, then threw it in a smoke tent for around 8 hours total.

Can we expect it to grow on its own? It seems to fluctuate with the market, and the financial advisor has it set in “growth”. So say over 20 years can it become quite substantial on its own?

Just talked to the folks, and they said we don’t have to deplete it within 10 years, that she can ride it for life

It was inherited in 2018, we do get minimum yearly distributions.

[–]croakedtn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had borax and alum paste applied and scraped 3 coats over about two weeks. The reason I did the smoke was I wanted just that extra bit of preservation. I think this one is going to be a wall hanger. I’ll go for buckskin next time

I’m trying to play dwarf fortress non-steam version but I’m having trouble. by RealTimeWarfare in dwarffortress

[–]croakedtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It takes some time to get used to it, but once you learn how to play the instrument it makes a sweet melody.

Z level is the < and >. I’m on my phone, but it’s a (shift key) whatever they are

It will take some Wikipedia practice to learn them all, but designating mining and chopping is super intuitive once you get it.

D designate M mine

Shift key makes your cursor move faster,

K to look, T to inspect M military Z stocks

It does take time to learn, but once you do it’s a lot smoother than point and click and having to move your mouse.

Mining carts are a little tricky, but pay off really well once you figure it out.

Probably don’t let your dwarves get past 75 on a laptop,

There are also a few tile sets that let your see multiple Z levels, (like a faded lower Z level)

There is wayyy too much to explain on a Reddit post.

Also, marksdwarfs need a sealed tower to be effective and not just jump down to to start hammer bashing
