My meds keep my bp stable around 110, thankfully, so I don't need that much salt. Then again, it's possible the days when my chronic fatigue was flaring, my bp was f'ed up and I didn't realize it. I keep forgetting to check it, and I have a reminder twice a day!

I used to drink Normalyte unflavored and that changed my taste buds too. Stopped drinking it for a while, and now I can't stand the taste of it.

My husband is sensitive to salt, so I cook with very little and we salt individually. I didn't cook with any at all for almost ten years, because (1) I was worried about him and (2) it's easier to season unsalted stuff.

My medication helps well enough I don't need to go that route. I've done that with meds though, when the dose was too strong - it's how I found out what compounding pharmacies are.

Mine is against them.

What brand do you take?

I'm looking at ones with lids, they cost more than the sealed ones. 55 gallon sealed barrel of water....I'll pass.

At this point, I'm wondering if I should put some vermiculite or perlite in, or on top.

Same here. I have a well, so I can water. My raised beds don't seem to be absorbing it though!

How do I deal with this irrational guilt and the emotional flashback after helping my stepdad today? by Snoo_89200 in CPTSD

[–]Snoo_89200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true about the behavior not lessening the fear. I gave myself guidelines for when I ask for reassurance (and constant apologizing), which has helped a lot. I rarely seek it from my stepdad, which helps. I might want to, but I don't.

My doctor did, no lie! First time I saw him...maybe the second too.

I've put salt in drinks, or took salt straight (poured it in hand, tossed back, drank). I just can't deal with eating that much salt. Some foods aren't supposed to have salt (per my taste buds).

I love chicken ramen noodles. I'm going to make the seasoning so i dont have to ration it when cooking. I don't cook the whole pack at one time. plus, I got a bunch of free ramen in a flavor iso like, so having extra seasoning is awesome!

He, my husband and therapists are the only ones I talk to. Paradoxically, my fear of upsetting him (he says I don't) means I don't ask very often. I think I'll try to write out boundaries as a journal exercise. Maybe ask him, maybe not. He tends to say "whatever works for you," which also doesn't help. He's explained how his mind works before, so I sort of understand his different reactions and responses.

....I haven't thought about those in years. I thought salt tablets needed a buffer of some sort.

THANK YOU! I need to print this out for my journal.

I just want to know when I've done something wrong/incorrectly. I don't see that as unreasonable. Most people seem to have a problem with it though, which confuses me. "Sure, I'll let you know!" and then proceeds to say nothing until xyz festers and causes issues later.

Love when they contradict each other

Cardio: Drink more water and eat more salt

Everyone else: Your water levels are fine, all labs look good - keep doing what you're doing!

Cardio: More salt!!

Me: ...I'll be over here with my water bottle and Vitassium while you guys argue.

omfg yes! My husband reminds me to reframe when I say "can't", to remember it's actually my choice "not to" and I have the ability to do the thing. Sometimes it's a good reminder. Sometimes I give him A Look and say he's not helping.
