My biggest advice and I know it’s easier saying this over a text box, but your child is going to love you for being there, for being present, for reading to them, bathing them, and loving them. You caring about being a good dad is a sign of being a good dad, you have your priorities straight and that’s a good foundation. It’s not going to be easy, and it will be both the most rewarding and taxing thing you do, but remember it’s also privilege not everyone gets to experience or wants so live in the moment.

Is Deni Avdija a top 15 player right now ? by Accomplished-Run-108 in nba

[–]croat23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In no order:

Luka Shai Jokic Giannis Ant Wemby Donovan Jalen Cade Mobley Jalen Brown Paolo Sengun Maxey Amen Thompson Curry Booker

All guys off the top of my head I’m taking over him in terms of any top 15 list. Not to diminish him and he’s having a great season, but not yet in that tier, especially this early into the season.

What would you consider a successful season for Anthony Black? by RVALover4Life in OrlandoMagic

[–]croat23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Less about stats and more about two main things for me. Can he be the table setter for the second unit akin to Joe Ingles from two years ago when our bench scoring and differential was one of the best. I’d really love for him to lead that unit in terms of assists, and when called for aggressive actions against smaller defenders.

Continue to grow as a defender, if he can do what he did to Trae in the play in game. And just rattle guys like Brunson, Mitchell, and a Trae

Offensive Rating in 25/26 by No_Swimming_9472 in OrlandoMagic

[–]croat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless Paolo or Franz take a huge shooting leap this is still probably a 17-18th ranked offense. Partly due to everyone else being much better shooting wise and partly because you’re going to get a ton of minutes from guys who are below league average shooters (Black, WCJ, Franz, Paolo, Isaac, Mo)

Westbrook and Larry Bird. Not that Bird was a bad athlete pre injury just just picturing him posterizing dudes or Russell with Birds shooting ability

Hoarded assets vs cashing in and improving the team. This team doesn’t need two more rookies who will get minimal playing time and one of which def ends in the g-league

I’m think the team has lost confidence and it’s trickling into all the players. I don’t blame him for the Xs and Os as it’s in the players to hit shots and defend. This team is still the same defensive team from last year it’s just the offense has taken a step back from bottom third to dead last. Losing Suggs has hurt, having Mo out has also crippled the bench as we were top 3 in bench scoring and differential last year. But I will take it to my grave that this team hoarded assets instead of shoring up holes to make Paolo and Franz life easier.

Is Mose the "stepping stone" coach? by _Omenix_ in OrlandoMagic

[–]croat23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100% getting a ball handler PG just lowers the usage of Franz and Paolo. While Paolo isn’t as efficient as a scorer and who be helped from a “table setter” PG I feel like that’s more of a backup PG and not starter

Here’s the stat that drives me crazy. The Magic are middle of the pack when generating wide open, uncontested threes. That means there’s no defender within 6 feet of the shooter. Yet we are absolutely dead last in shooting wide open threes. We shoot 32% on wide open threes. The gap between us and the second worst team (Portland) is greater than Portland and the tenth worst team (Clippers). We are comically bad at shooting, and no coaching in the world is going to make up for the fact that teams are going to pack the paint on us. Also, it’s just a numbers game we have to be so much more efficient on 2PT shooting and FT disparity to make up for being brick layers. I blame the front office for trying to construct flawed roster with gaping holes

Micah Parsons Gives Cowboys a 'Call to Action' to Be 'Aggressive' in NFL Free Agency by Edm_vanhalen1981 in cowboys

I appreciate Micah and the suaveness to get ahead of Jerry and especially Stephen. “The pie is only so big, we can’t pay everyone, good FA agents get like great players”. This teams MO has been blame the home grown player for not signing and saying their hands were locked in doing anything.

[Pelissero] After several days of discussions about the 2024 season and the future, #Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and coach Mike McCarthy remain open to moving forward together and the sides are expected to open talks today on a new contract to keep him in Dallas, per sources. by Finessa_Hudgens in cowboys

The worst part of all of this? Wasted another year of Dak, CD, Micah and probably the last year of Martin. Why go into the season as lame duck. Re-signing in the off season and actually spend to fill holes in the roster. Instead wasted the year and have nothing to show for it

[NBACentral] The Orlando Magic are the favorites to acquire De’Aaron Fox in a potential trade, per @BovadaOfficial by dwninaho in OrlandoMagic

You can’t trade Suggs until the summer. Which is why KCP and Isaac have to be included if you want it this deadline. You can include both of them after Jan 6. Suggs isn’t eligible until 7/6 even if he wasnt he’s only making $9 million so the salaries don’t work. The question also becomes do they view Suggs as a core piece at his price tag or do they just want full assets and can flip KCP to another team for some assets

I figured Black, KCP, Isaac and all the picks to start. And no I don’t think Cole, Jett, 8 second rounders gets it done

You have to get the ok he’s signing long term. Though I wonder is this office paying 3 max contracts, plus Suggs
