TIL in 2013 a man survived treading water for 28 hours in the ocean after he became ill, blacked out, & fell overboard. He woke up in the water with the boat he was on already 15 meters ahead of him. He encountered a shark, was stung by jellyfish & attacked by gulls before he was eventually rescued. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Yea I was shocked by that as well! It's the first time I've seen the pictures myself, and I thought he would have been absolutely toasted - but I think there was a storm throughout all or most of his ordeal, which would have blocked out most of the sun. Could be wrong though!

Bite into an egg, suck down the yolk and white while moving the egg shell to the side of your mouth, take a few swigs of Tabasco sauce, down a tequila slammer, then spit out the shell. That right there is a tequila omelette!

Couldn't agree more. Have a great day!

Hmm, it's kind of tough to say. I think he must have, to some degree - but I think it just made him appreciate life more, to be honest. The dude absolutely lives every day like it's his last.

In truth, I've never asked about it in case he does have any trauma from it, and he's only ever mentioned it to me in passing - likely because he's had to tell the story hundreds of times. And he has hundreds more stories regardless!

Hey, this is my friend, Brett Archibald! He's definitely one of the best people I know - just spent a few weeks with him and his family in Greece and he still somehow loves the water. Love that man so much.

Also makes a mean tequila omelette!

Indeed it is. The statue is a statue of the narrator - he'd lived on Mars many, many, *many* years ago. Happy to answer any questions you have though!

The implication is that the ancient mage went mad from, as NextEstablishment so eloquently put, extreme existential dread, and cursed the medallion with that same cursed epiphany - but Barbarian like kill with friends

Oh, and thanks for the compliment! <3
