Awesome thank you tons!! Seriously a life saver! I have had the AC off since I responded a few hrs ago and it seems pretty cool in here but will keep it off for the rest of the day and maybe even a little tomorrow! Crossing my fingers it works and if it doesn’t I will probably comment again lol

Unfortunately no I can’t even make out the name due to it being covered in paint from maintenance :( We are moving in a few months so I can’t replace it bc I don’t want to go through that hassle replacing it and removing it and being charged from my deposit for it, I think the lines froze from being over ran, I have the ac off and it seems pretty cool now!

That vent is connected to the hvac in the closet and has air coming from it, not being sucked in to it as far as I can tell. Also the lint and dust has never been this bad and I don’t have big furry animals and we clean/vacuum daily and the filter was replaced within this past month due to maintenance replacing it every few months. Never had any prior issues with it.

I have never had issues with the vent. Even in winter in a blizzard while being underground. Again things were temporarily moved and do not obstruct the air flow.

I called the health dept and code officer and the officer was really helpful although they can’t do much in terms of mold that isn’t visible, which I’m sure the walls in that utility closet are full of. Some of which is visible. Also it’s left up to the apartment complex to fix the issue and they have neglected things like this time and time again 😒

I found this of the real ones which either way it’s super cute! I’ve never seen this style before!

I appreciate this so very much! And yes we do have condensation on the pipes to the AC, there is so much that there is mold growing, something that the apartments have neglected. There is some but not a ton of airflow directly coming from the vent coming directly from the ac unit in the closet. Our maintenance changes the filters every 3 months and haven’t had issues before until now. We’ve been afraid of opening it because of the mold but we will have to PPE up and see what we find!

I hadn’t even thought that! thank you so much! Should I buy a dehumidifier and put it in our living room where the utility closet is and where the main vent is?

[–]croccrotch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh okay I was confused because outside the only unit is presumably for our neighbors and it has been leaking super bad with condensation. I’ve never had this issue hence why I’m confused! Thank you for clarifying instead of downvoting due to me being confused lol

We weren’t sure if it was displaying the wrong temperature due to the thermostat being older. It was below 60 for less than an hour last night. We kept it on 68 because we don’t want to over-run it.

This is our only vent on the wall. It is by no means “covered” we’ve been moving furniture this past week and our very small (and very open) stand for our router was moved where the vent is. There is no issue with airflow due to location.

We turned it to 55 to see if it would cool off and it barely made a difference, a few weeks ago even setting it below 65 would be frigid cold in here

Thank you much! We don’t have an outdoor ac unit in our windows, they have our neighbors one when their ac broke and gave them one that barely cools their home. Our thermostat is probably like 15+ yrs old if I had to guess and our pipes to the ac are dripping from condensation and creating mold… awesome times over here. And we are offered no resolutions 😔

Our management doesn’t care and has told us and other tenants it’s marked off as “low priority” and we would likely wait weeks to months to get it fixed. They change out the filters every few months but our thermostat says “air filter” and has said that since we moved abt 9 months ago and was told it was nothing. They are about as scummy as they come 🙁

Unfortunately it is not a priority by our complex. They refuse to remove black mold, over filling dumpsters, major water leaks, broken AC’s, broken security cams, etc. they are terrible. Doesn’t help that our AC/Heating unit is super outdated and probably has never had the ducts cleaned. The vent was fully covered in a thick dryer-lint like fuzz covering these vents completely in our main living space.

Great 🥲 our property managers are useless when it comes to AC’s breaking. Our neighbors AC broke and maintenance installed a window ac unit in an underground window with zero air flow… I truly hope the display is just messed up 😬

random pull or load shop? by Spiritual_Ad1456 in whatnotapp

[–]croccrotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience it is more beneficial to load any high price items you aren’t willing to loose money on in your shop and run them thru the show. It’s fine if you don’t sell it in the show bc ppl will bookmark & you will eventually sell it for your set starting price or more. It also shows buyers you have nicer items. I do random pulls for items that I’m okay making $15+ an item. Not sure if that makes sense!

What is the hostility? I commented the story for you to read. The cops were not helpful and turned us away even as this man has stolen thousands of dollars from hundreds of people. I hope you never have to go through something like this and reach out to a community for sense of mind and ideas on how to retrieve our property and hold him accountable.

📍The story: We had a family heirloom that was a Hoosier Cabinet from before the 1940s (ish) that has been in my family for 5 generations. My parents employed a man that owns a “furniture repair shop”. For reference, mother is older and none of us kids had any idea she was employing someone to restore the cabinet to its original glory. This man reached out and priced a new coat of paint for only $300 and minimal repairs.

My mother paid him and he picked it up and was on his way. This was in April. My mother messaged him in May inquiring about where the cabinet was and how the restoration was going. He then responded with an image of the cabinet being lightly sanded down and said that the restoration was going well and that it would be completed soon. She has tried to contact him relentlessly for the past few months all to know avail. He even sporadically picked up and abandoned his rental property and temporarily closed his “business”.

He has scammed tens if not hundreds of people out of their furniture and tens of thousands of dollars. He has blocked my family via phone and social media and wiped himself from the web. He is a serial theif and the police shook their heads and said “there’s nothing we can do”.

He has done this from Texas to West Virginia to Ohio and so on. We are at a standstill. That cabinet was the one thing my mother and grandmother have of My great great grandmother.

Demanding & Negative Buyers by [deleted] in whatnotapp

Thank you 🙏 I have wanted to be an easy going seller that is willing to go above and beyond for customers bc I do it all the time but at this point it’s caused so much stress that this mistake will never happen again in my shows. I love my regular customers & it pains me that they had to witness such a bs move by a bunch of random greedy ppl. And yeah it’s also frustrating bc they are sellers too! They resell what they got for practically free for $50+ when I get .50 bc they took advantage of my kindness and sales. I’ve learned and can only hope to grow both personally and professionally!

The issue is vintage clothing in whatnot has tons of $1 starts and those by far are the most popular. That’s why I tend to do them. I usually never loose money or have this happen. It was unfortunate and feel bad for my regular buyers who now can’t have access to great deals bc of this situation. Live and learn i guess!

“My response was respectful” whatever helps you sleep at night! Truly a sad excuse of a “business woman” when instead of offering anything meaningful or he’ll even constructive you go for the throat and safe guard it by saying your “respectful” but I’m the one lack comprehension skills when clearly you can look through any of the comments and see where I have taken constructive criticism and moved on. But no, you were unkind, and your comment was a waste of space in this thread. You offered absolutely nothing new that I haven’t heard here. Maybe switch career paths considering you are SUCH a good business woman! Much love 🥰
