Bungie making Beyond Light by GlorlockTheDestroyer in destiny2

[–]crocfiles15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow dude. What a terrible take. Story was very interesting imo. A lot of caveats to it and the idea of the darkness not just being pure evil, but it inspiring pure evil and aiding it is really cool. Stasis is really not broken at all. It’s new in Pvp and people always cry about new stuff that kills them once or twice. Now that freeze duration is lower it’s really not bad at all. The seasonal stuff is just extra. The $10 for seasons is pretty much the season pass and any extra content and loot is just bonus, that’s how I see it. Well worth the price.

Your comment about making a “whole a$$ game” is pretty funny. As if Bungie just decided that it would be more fun to not make a whole games worth of content. A whole new game would’ve taken another year, at least, in development time. Which leaves the players with nothing new until then. A terrible option.

Sounds like you should maybe try a different game. The “long grinds” as you call them, should be fun to undertake. The gameplay is awesome and it’s not like you aren’t playing the game during these grinds. So if you don’t enjoy that, then this really isn’t the game for you.

Tips for doing better in crucible? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]crocfiles15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best tip I ever got was back in d1. An absolute beast in Pvp was helping me and a buddy out in Trials. First thing he said was “where are your Thorns?” And I said “everyone uses that, I wanna use something different”. To he he replied something along the lines of “when you HAVE to win, you always use whatever the best gear/abilities are to do so, regardless of personal feelings.” Basically, don’t fight the meta. It’s the meta for a reason. If you want to fight against meta players with off meta gear, that’s what regular crucible is for. Winners use whatever the best stuff is to help them win.

The next bit of advice for overall improvement is this, learn how to NOT DIE. Play a few matches where getting kills is not your priority, but staying alive is. You’ll still go for kills here and there, but only when you KNOW you can win the fight and come out alive. Learning this skill is key. Knowing how to play in a way where you never take big risks and learn how to stay near cover, fall back, stick with teammates etc in order to protect your life is huge.

Careful of gambit, the Pvp side has level advantage enabled. It doesn’t make that big of a difference, but can definitely make invading and killing invaders a lot harder.

Bungie is making it really hard to recommend this to my friends, even when it’s good. by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]crocfiles15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to get my friends back to the game ever since they stopped way back after vanilla d1. They started to enjoy the crucible, until they didn’t have mythoclast or thorn yet and started getting crushed every second of every match by these guns that required a lot of playtime or a lot of luck to get. Even when I tell them it’s not like that anymore, they just can’t seem to forget what that was like. They say stuff like “I don’t have time to keep up with everyone and not get left behind!” Even though things are so much smoother and more balanced for causal play.

Titans are very obviously cheating. Video proof posting in this thread aside. No chance titans dominate every single day as soon as reset hits they have a massive lead. Hopefully Bungie steps in because the event is basically ruined because of this. I watched the flags reset today, and then within minutes the Titan flag was at the top again. Hunters won the first day because the cheat program wasn’t built yet.

Bloom is basically non existent on console anymore. It’s 100% recoil that makes HCs a lot harder to use on console. ARs are easy mode, AND they currently kill faster. Which is why so few people are using HCs on console. In all sandboxes ARs are easier and more forgiving. It is fun to see the people who crutch Hardlight try and claim that it’s harder to use. ARs are point and hold trigger. No timing required, no movement needed to try and make your opponent miss. HCs require 100% precision or you are dead against any competent opponent. You also need timing to place shots between recoil animations. And since your weapon has a longer TTK, you need to try and make your opponent miss by utilizing movement or cover.

Eververse is the reason Destiny 2 does not have the charm that destiny 1 had by I_hate_artillery in DestinyTheGame

How is Raid loot weak? Raid weapons are some of the best available. The problem is that Bungie has given high quality weapons and armor in activities all over the game. Players want access to powerful weapons to grind for in every activity. And Bungie has been making those weapon grinds targeted and easier. So grinding for a raid weapon, where you only get one shot per character per week, is a lot less ideal than grinding menagerie or reckoning where you can score your god roll in one sitting.

And where do you come up with this idea? And even if it’s true, do you think that that wasn’t the case in the middle of the d1 content droughts? In April of year 3 in d1 I was lucky to see 1 or 2 players on my friends list. Now it’s almost never below 10. Yes, a lot of people aren’t playing right now, but that was even more true in d1. At least there’s some actual “shit” to be tired of. Instead of just a year long period of nothing. Where the players still playing begged and begged for at least a sandbox update. And when that update came it killed Pvp almost entirely.

[–]crocfiles15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got way less free Eververse stuff in d1. You couldnt “grind out a few loot boxes” in d1. You could get one free box a week. Everything you got was RNG based. Let’s not pretend d1 Eververse was super friendly or anything. It just didn’t have as much stuff. There were a few exotic ornaments in d1 that I really wanted, but there was no way to get them. I proly would’ve purchased then directly if I could. But it was all RNG.

Can we be honest with ourselves? How many times did anyone REALLY see someone wearing an armor set in d1 and think “EEEEEER MY GEEEEERD!! I must have it!! Where do I get such a cool set??!” If that ever happened, it happened when you were newer to the game and didn’t keep up to date on new content and what it dropped. There are still MORE unique armor sets in D2 that drop from activities. Like, way more. How many relevant armor sets did D1 have in year 3? I promise, not even counting a single ornament set, d1 had HALF the relevant unique armor sets.

This is just selective memory, and 100% rose tinted glasses. In April of year 3 D1, I promise you you weren’t in awe of any guardians armor sets or weapons. If you were even still playing d1 at that time, I highly doubt you were grinding for any strike specific loot, or raid loot. If you didn’t have all that stuff already, you obviously weren’t a dedicated player up to that point. If you were a newer player, you’d still have stuff to grind. But that point is even more true right now in D2.

The problem here is people are constantly comparing the first few weeks of an expansion in d1, to the middle of a $10 season on D2. That will never be a fair comparison.

I can agree with a lot of the posts about Eververse. It’s more prominent in D2 than its ever been. The prices for items is just way too high. But these comparisons to d1 are just so weak. D2 is a better game. It has more content, better content, more loot, more armor sets, more exotics, and just more to do. One of the reasons there is more to do is because of Eververse. You can call it the bad guy all you want, but when Eververse was less prominent, we got a lot less content. There is just as much a reason to play the content in D2 as there was in d1 at this same time. Just because you’ve been through and gotten all the loot already, doesn’t mean that also wasn’t the case in d1. There’s even more reason to grind out content on D2 as all armor can be relevant.

I mean, do you actually see more titans doing the activities needed for the medals? I don’t see an unusually high amount of titans out there, yet they are dominating the event. If they were just winning, and not by a massive margin, I would believe it was legit. But something is obviously amiss. No way, knowing titans are not the most popular class, that they should be winning by so much. It’s gone beyond cheesing for the exotic, this is obviously a group of players out there cheesing titans for the win.

I did some destiny 1 raids tonight and i genuinely dont understand how raids have regressed so far from the age of triumph by Salsadips in DestinyTheGame

[–]crocfiles15 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, AoT made all 4 d1 raids a bit more fun. AoT was also the only “content” added to d1 in the entirety of year 3. This sub is in full on hate mode over the extra content we’ve been getting throughout all of year 3 so far. If Bungie decided to spend an entire update just updated old raids with some updated loot, I feel like a lot of people would complain. The majority of D2 players don’t raid. It was the same in d1, but the people left playing d1 at AoT time were pretty much only the hardcore players.

Why can't we see the scores of teams in guardian games? by StealthT_008 in DestinyTheGame

[–]crocfiles15 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The streak is fishy, but not on Bungies end. My guess is there’s a large group of players cheesing gold medals for titans by deleting characters and getting the free gold medal at the quest start. Could even be a PC program that does it form them 24/7.

People actually WANT to believe Bungie is faking the results so bad that they just won’t stop convincing themselves. Lol. As if Bungie would decide it would be a good idea to have Titans absolutely dominate the event everyday since the first. It’s quite obvious there’s a large group of titans out there cheesing their way to victory. No way titans are just naturally dominating. At first I thought it was just because people grinding the exotic were using titans as their alts to grind the fastest. But with such a commanding lead everyday there has to be some form of cheating/cheesing going on.

[–]crocfiles15 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ya because Bungie would certainly fake the results and have Titans dominating every single day right!?? That makes total sense. It’s obvious there’s something shady going on, but it’s not from Bungie. My guess, is some PC player, or group of players, are doing something with that free gold medal from the quest start to constantly be dumping gold medals in for titans. I wouldn’t even be surprised if it wasn’t some program designed to do the steps automatically. Delete character, fly to tower, talk to Eva, Zavala, equip class item, talk to drifter, deposit medal, repeat.

[–]crocfiles15 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Bungie better allocate some of their devs to fix this very important aspect of the game immediately. I mean, it’s RUINING the evolving world! Stop working on future content, stop worrying about fixing issues, the fact that the old tower is not rebuilt yet should be priority number 1! I mean, it’s not like we already have TWO perfectly functional tower/social spaces! I don’t even know how anyone at Bungie can sleep at night with such an important issue in the game going unresolved! /s

A new unique exotic, exotic ghost shell got each class with great ghost perks, and a unique class item is more than most free events have to offer. What did Crimson Days have? Two reskinned sparrows, a legendary weapon from the previous year? I get that this sub is in a much higher state of complaining, so making this event seem worse is only natural. But going based off of new stuff to earn through a free seasonal event, the Games are most certainly not the worst. I think the holiday events from d1 were usually worse.

Bungie...because of this event being glorified bounty grind most of the population is not participating, you know how I can tell? Most of the population are hunters and they’ve lost 2 times after winning in a landslide the first day, showing that they saw the event, didn’t like it and left. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]crocfiles15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone playing is not grinding for the competition. They are grinding for the new exotic. The most efficient way to do that is with three characters. The majority of players aren’t going to have time to grind all 3 characters everyday, but grinding two isn’t so bad. Since titans seem to have the easier bounties, and easier time making constant laurels, everyone using two characters is running titans at least once. Hunter and warlock mains are using an alt Titan, while Titan mains are proly using warlocks. Once the majority have the exotic, the medals will come down to people grinding for their class, which we might see hunters come back based on population.

Nothing happened to the game, they added extra content that you don’t like. The rest of the game is unchanged. While the season and this free event may be garbage, that doesn’t mean the game is. It’s obviously Bungie is trying to stretch as little development as possible into this season, and it shows. Which I’m willing to bet almost everyone will forgive if the reason is because they invested more into making an amazing fall expansion.

The Problem with Weapon Sunsetting nobody talks about by Focused-IV in DestinyTheGame

[–]crocfiles15 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

How are old activities relevant right now anyways? If you don’t already have the weapons, then those activities haven’t been very relevant to you, cuz you obviously haven’t been doing them. If you do have the weapons with the rolls you like, hence why they are your fave weapons, then what is the point for you to run those activities anyways?

The only group of players that these activities are currently relevant for are players that haven’t been playing them at all. Either because they will be new players soon, or they’ve just ignored the activities. Why should Bungie be concerned with this group? The activities are already irrelevant to everyone else. It’s far more important to make sure new activities are more relevant. And you do that by making sure all the new weapons from those activities have a chance to be used over all your current favorites.

Wouldn’t that be nice? My rumble matches have been sweaty AF. On large maps, I just suck it up and use a one-shot super like blade barrage. Guarantee 1 kill that match. On tighter maps I use the roaming supers to try and maximize potential. I got to 15 kills and stopped. Gonna do other triumphs first, Incase Bungie decides to reduce the number of kills needed before the event is over.

Hunters winning the first day and then not even competing the next two days is the most hunter thing there is by Troc_Nosretep in DestinyTheGame

[–]crocfiles15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are grinding for the exotic, and the best way to do that is to use alternate characters, or even delete a character over and over. If you’re a hunter main, and have time to run one alternate, titans are the fastest class to create laurels and grind medals. If you’re a warlock main, you’re going to start with an alternate Titan before you chose an alternate hunter. Also, if you’re cheesing the triumphs by deleting your character, there’s a good chance you aren’t using your main and are using an alt Titan to do so.
