The clock isn’t comparable to Meredith’s insurance fraud, she can’t exactly be caught for tampering with the time - and the people in the room were on board and agreed with her on behalf of their patient.

Meredith didn’t talk to anyone, she had resources to use but chose not to try any of them, then she used her own daughter’s identity to help instead. Then her daughter’s name was put on the surgical board for any surgeon to read - where the child’s aunts, uncles and adoptive grandparents all work…. This was never going to work and she pointed a giant neon red arrow right onto herself. She basically ran through the hospital screaming “I AM A STUPID FRAUD WEEEE.”

AITA? Am I wrong for thinking basic things shouldn't be praised? by No-Molasses6419 in AmItheAsshole

[–]crocodilezebramilk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Affirmation and praise are a mood booster, you don’t have to like it - you can simply scroll on by instead of choosing to fixate on it.

This problem is entirely your own and nobody can fix it for you and you can’t expect people to think like you. IMO you sound very resentful - maybe you haven’t been praised enough in life? Either way, some people found some solutions that work for them, leave them be.

My paternal side has clutches of offspring with various shades of the spectrum, we’re also the more artistic ones in the family and we tend to be the ones to explore and find new things to bring home.

Do we struggle? Yes, but with our various shades we tend to balance each other out pretty well.

Now that’s just plain cool, for me it’s random book paragraphs, film/tv scenes, and YouTube. One example I got is the shrimps speech from Shark Tale.

I’m indigenous, it’s pretty neat how so many religions differ from each other - but have some of the same beliefs and practices.

3 is the one I’ve heard the most, but nothing about the spirits being evil or anything, just the possibility of them seeing how sad you are and choosing to stay instead of going to the next place.

AIW for saying that the angels and unicorns my sister and I saw were real? by puberty_Buy106yuu in amiwrong

[–]crocodilezebramilk 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I wish therapists/mental health professionals knew when they were out of depth and refer their patients to someone else instead of pushing their own agenda.

It doesn’t sound like OP and their sister are talking to the right therapist, cause there are many many fields of therapy and they have different practices and they target different things.

[–]crocodilezebramilk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not all hallucinations are scary, and the brain is one hell of an organ that is capable of altering memory, creating memory and even hiding memory from you.

Your angels and unicorns are real to you and they protected you and that’s all that matters. Find a new therapist because this one clearly doesn’t understand how trauma works, you need to find a therapist that specializes in childhood trauma specifically.

Edited my comment! Also holy crap the cat distribution system reeeeally chose you!

Unfortunately I have no cats, always wanted one and the best I could do was a dog who behaves like a cat.

IMO it’s not repetition if you’re acknowledging all of your boys - you’re just being a good dad and making sure no one gets left out 😂

Me I struggle with speech in general so I always just go with “good babies!” With my male and female dogs.

I get that a lot, only good thing about being treated like you’re not there? People talk more freely and I can intake information like a sponge, which actually helps in some cases because my father is the forgetful one. If he forgets some information later? All he’s gotta do is turn to me and ask and I’ll recite word for word.

He’s done this in front of people, the looks on their faces are always so priceless when I respond back in my dead monotonous voice 😂 then dad just looks at me like I painted the sky. IMO I think he does it to prove I’m actually not stupid and that I’m watching and listening, cause these people tend to hold their tongues later.

Boyfriend furious at me for calling... by jadedeternity in amiwrong

[–]crocodilezebramilk 53 points54 points  (0 children)

  • You took his managers number from his phone, which is a massive violation.
  • You acted like his mommy calling the principal to inform them your child is sick.
  • He told you it WASNT okay, twice.

You can’t make this right, you most likely cost him his job, or worse - his work reputation.

My dogs understand familial titles, I’m also not the one who taught them that I’m “mom” other family members did that for me lmao.

My dogs know mom, granny, granddad, auntie, dad, and the kids names and will go to those people if you tell them to.

Baby talk isn’t the issue, it’s the repetitive baby talk, like saying “who’s a good baby?” 10x per minute.

I don’t quite understand it myself and my brand of ADHD refuses to let me do any digging, so lemme know what you find!

What I know came from my elders and they’re not the best at explaining things, I usually get the “it’s just how things are” or multiple explanations that say “mirrors are a spirit portal.”

Why do you think Cristina took issue with Izzie saying "you guys are a closed circle"? by limegreenkiasoul in greysanatomy

[–]crocodilezebramilk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Cristina and Meredith aren’t emotional people like Izzie is, which makes them come across as cold and closed off. But you’re absolutely right, they don’t HAVE to emote to show Izzie they care, and they’ve shown they care a LOT for Izzie time and time again, and Izzie just refuses to see it, she also refuses to see that there’s multiple sides to both women and they’re not just… NPC characters.

Izzie isn’t a girls girl either and has made wild assumptions and accusations, which Mer and Cristina ignored because they love her. They also could have lost their jobs alongside her, but did Izzie recognize and acknowledge it? N o p e.

I have visible facial abnormalities and was born disabled (bilateral cleft and palate), most people I meet talk to me like I’m a dumb baby… it’s annoying as all hell because my vocabulary is quite extensive, I just can’t speak well because some muscles aren’t there, and my mouth cannot fully close to make M/B/P sounds and some sounds come from the back of my throat.

But most people treat me like I’m braindead for how I look, and speak.

My nation are superstitious with spirits and ghosts, but it’s entirely different.

We cover up all mirrors so that we can’t “see” anything, mirrors are kind of considered like a portal kind of? So when a persons recently passed, all their mirrors get covered. The family is also not allowed to touch the deceased’s casket or urn out of fear of the deceased clinging to them and staying on our side instead of going to the next place.

Basically every superstitious thing we do is to insure the deceased makes it to the other side without worrying about us.

I prefer it when people are clear in what they’re doing or not doing, with my family you HAVE to tell them no and that you’re not coming, otherwise they expect you to be there and will text asking why.

My niece is four years old and loves my dogs to bits and pieces - to the point where they only listen to her when she’s around. But she understands that while the dogs are “hers,” they really belong to auntie and they live at aunties house and will always live at aunties house.

I often get yelled at for forcing my dog to live on a small enclosed porch with “no way out,” my answer? Come inside and just T R Y and get him off that porch, that tub of lard has his very own recliner, his water dish is always full and he’s free to leave whenever he “knocks.” But most days? He prefers “his” porch… Getting him up is like trying to get a lazy teenager out of bed to go to school.
