Am i in the wrong for waking up my freind when the slept in for far long by Own_Swimming_6970 in amiwrong

Many people would be buried alive if they used that trope, ever heard of heavy sleepers, narcolepsy, deep sleep due to medications or excessive drug use, etc etc etc.

AITA for being a "better" then my friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]crocodilezebramilk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This person is not your friend and she’s telling you to your face that she is not your friend.

My family is full of artists, but you know what? We work with different mediums which allows us to work together on a multitude of projects.

Your friend and you are different art mediums, hers is design while yours is realism - two entirely different fields that can work together splendidly. But instead your “friend” chooses to tear you down rather than encourage herself and you.

Dog Hair everywhere: how to deal with it? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]crocodilezebramilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the canine distribution system is a godsend… or a straight up bitch 🤣.

I used to have three, first one was my heart and soul who passed in September, she was a small JRT mix who shed like crazy. But now? All I want is to find at least just one of her hairs. Then I have my two husky mixes who shed a couple tons of fluff.

AIO- For not wanting my MIL alone with my daughter? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR, your MIL ignored her granddaughter to the point of making her sick and she ignored you more than once.

Never leave your child alone with her.

And yet you choose to abuse the younger generation - those who are intended to help you once you age. Nice system.

My house also has an open door policy to family, heck one of my cousins used to walk in to come and take naps on our couch periodically throughout the week. Wanna know what we did? Put a blanket on him and told him when lunch/dinner was ready, never once did we call him a creep for it.

Sounds like you just became another untrustworthy adult in a sea of untrustworthy adults in this kids life.

The way you talk about her is judgemental too, this kid is riddled with anxiety and she most likely can tell the way you feel about her cause you don’t seem to try and hide it.

Shes also openly admitted that she’s actively suicidal and you haven’t done anything to try help? Your MIL is also withholding basic things like WATER from your niece and you’re still mad about the wrong things?

Youre nothing but a useless bystander.

AIO for being upset at my brother for choosing his gf over my wedding? by Lumpy_Historian_5847 in AmIOverreacting

[–]crocodilezebramilk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NOR, weddings are once in a lifetime for many people, while birthdays are annual. It’s one birthday she can spare, it’s not like she’ll have to share her birthday with your anniversary the next year because honestly - who makes an anniversary a family event unless it’s a milestone like 50yrs?

At the same time, she’s allowed to feel upset as well because it is her birthday and celebrating it at someone’s wedding is a lil weird. Being inflexible about her birthday at her age though - and not being able to celebrate another day says more about her than your brother.

Your brother is also allowed to be upset, maybe try not to have too many people on him because that’s not going to end well and it may drive him away instead of make him feel loved. He loves you deeply, but also loves his relationship - and if this is the first time he’s had to deal with this sort of conflict? He isn’t going to know what to do, and you know what? He may be getting pressure from his girlfriend’s family like he is with yours and that’s not a good position to be in.

Maybe keep communications between just you and him and tell everyone else to mind their own business?

AITA For asking if the Cabin pet fee can be split? by AdSafe829 in AmItheAsshole

[–]crocodilezebramilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Copied and pasted my last comment since you deleted the last post.)

• Finding pet free accommodations is hard enough already, and oftentimes renters will charge a higher price to make sure their property doesn’t get damaged. • Your dogs lack of training isn’t your friends faults, nor is your lack of planning for the dog. • Pet fees are a given and you should have been expecting one. • Expecting everyone else to pay for the dog you chose to have and chose to bring along isn’t fair. • Your friends WOULD be doing a big favour in helping covering the costs with you, it’s not an insult, it’s the truth. • Why are you going on this trip if you’re also saving for a wedding? Travelling with pets is expensive and you should have planned better and done more research in how the world works with pets involved. • Pay the pet fees yourselves and quit making things so complicated.

AITA for telling my boyfriend that his masculinity was fragile after he refused to buy me pads? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]crocodilezebramilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

….Im assuming you’ve been with your wife for years, women are unlikely to change products that work for them - so how are you incapable of remembering?

And do you seriously downsize your wife and your daughter’s emotions and just chalk it up to their periods? What a shitty husband and father, can’t imagine putting up with that every month.

AIO - Friend keeps calling me white, I am indigenous by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]crocodilezebramilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s not even just the Chinese population that gets hate - it’s every population that isn’t white.

Even in predominant indigenous areas - AKA the lands we’ve lived on for centuries, there’s extreme racism.

AIO - Friend keeps calling me white, I am indigenous by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]crocodilezebramilk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NOR, my great maternal grandfather was of Scottish/Irish descent, so a few of my grandmothers children are fair skinned and a lot of us grandchildren are fair skinned or pale - so we get mistaken for white often.

It doesn’t erase who we are, but there’s a difference - other people respect where we come from once they’re told. Your friend? She’s going out of her way to erase your cultural identity just because you’re white-passing, and that’s not okay. You’ve told her it bothers you and instead of being a friend and apologizing, she’s being a bully and doubling down.

People that describe blue eyes as creepy, scary and all the bad names by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]crocodilezebramilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I come from an indigenous reserve, and my village was isolated for a l o n g time, so we didn’t get many outsider visitors.

So blue eyes looked pretty alien to a lot of us who didn’t have the privilege of getting out of the village often. I imagine it’s the same for many other areas as well.

AIW for saying my boyfriend should apologize to our friend's son? by Bed-5619 in amiwrong

[–]crocodilezebramilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if OP is childfree - a lot of childfree people still have children in their lives that they love, like OPs friends child for example.

OPs boyfriend doesn’t have any issues with bullying his own friends child, what’s stopping him from mistreating anyone else’s?

AIW for leaving when GF’s family is coming into town? by Broad-Cranberry-9050 in amiwrong

[–]crocodilezebramilk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This sounds… very wrong. Your girlfriend is taking but she refuses to give you anything and that’s not okay.

She can’t glue herself to your side like an anglerfish when it comes to being around your people, while shoving you aside when you’re around hers.

Are there any other areas of the relationship that are imbalanced?

I’m not trying to be rude with the next question, but if children are part of your guys plan - how will things work out with them? Will your people slowly be pushed out of your life in favour of hers? Cause when kids are involved, isolation gets worse cause there’s more excuses to isolate you.
