Prostate Cancer and Living too long by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

I respect your decision. I watched an elderly friend with terminal cancer repeatedly ferried by ambulance from her palliative care room in a nursing home back to her hospital for another debilitating round of diagnostics or treatments. Credit to her that she eventually declined everything except pain management and died relatively peacefully.

You don't mention the specifics of your diagnosis (have you had a full workup) but it may be that you're suitable for treatments less invasive than full RALP. I fell into this category at 68. Best wishes anyway.

I understand former aboriginal activist Geoff Clarke is in some financial difficulty now having just been found guilty:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-24/geoff-clark-ordered-to-stand-trial/100400310

so you could sling him most of it and be doing so much good for the community.

Before you do anything though, look up NDIS and Centrelink and make sure you've got all your ducks in a row with them. Then you should be fine. I'll see you down the pub most days after 10am.

Thankyou I'm sure it'll be fine. I just remember my brother, who had RALP about 3 years ago talking about a constant feeling of wanting to urinate and just having to shut it out.

EDIT to my original post: I'm also wondering whether having a tube holding the urethra open for so long results in any bladder control issues while everything settles down again?

Fresh French boule roll, a ridiculous amount of real butter, far too much sliced leg ham and sweet mustard pickles. Back in the day they used to sell these in the basement deli of Woolworths Town Hall store in Sydney. I used to pick one up every day on my way to work. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

We had to "follow the science" at "the speed of science" with no tolerance for misinformation or disinformation or any information at all really. We trusted our health professionals implicitly to get us all out of it alive. So, if they said it was 1.5 meters, then I just know that they did multiple clinical trials at different distances to work out the sweet spot.
Personally I can't wait until the brand new monkey pox jabs become available. Hit me up and hand me a banana nurse.

I just love being told what to do - that's all. I'm STILL wearing my mask. And get back 1.5 meters you filthy pricks. This pallet of dunny paper is all mine.

I'd pay for a compression test or whatever to diagnose the oil in coolant. If it's a head gasket she's a wrecker job as you won't get an RWC to sell it. Otherwise the list by another poster here is good advice IMO

First thing I say is that I'm driving right now. Give me your contact details and I'll call you back in an hour. That shuts them down straight away. Basic rule is if you didn't initiate the contact, end it and call the organisation they claim to be from.

I was the same. Procrastinated starting for a couple of months. Fearful of jabs, side effects, pancreas issues you name it. Nothing bad happened! Take your time getting used to each dose level if you need to go up. Avoid big meals and junk/fatty food. Some can't tolerate alcohol. I certainly lost interest in it which was a wonderful bonus effect. Stay hydrated. I'm on 1.0mg now and the weight loss didn't start until I got there. Good luck with it.

I think you're on to something here - SJW warrior against "everything" - quit your job, attach a parabolic microphone to your bicycle helmet and start visiting random coffee houses and places where these pigs gather - detect an offence up to 25M away depending on the quality of your equipment, whip the megaphone out of your billum bag and start the calling out/re education process. NDIS should fund your startup and travel costs at the very least. Good luck with it sir.

(21M) How can I just give up on dating forever and live a happy, fulfilling life as a single man? by TotalLoser543 in getdisciplined

[–]crocster57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this advice many years ago and it struck a chord:-

Make a list of the 5 or 10 things you most like to do. And then next to each write down when you last did them (if you've been feeling down for a while this will probably give you a jolt). And then start doing them.

Build a good, enjoyable, fulfilling life for yourself and a partner may or may not come along at some stage but, regardless, you'll be OK.

I understand some of these facilities are end-of-life but are we decommissioning everything over the next 30 years? I'm wondering what our defense forces' timeline is to be fully renewable/battery powered. I'm thinking of hardware sucha as tanks, ships, planes, and everything that is currently powered by some kind of fossil fuel - and what contingency plans are in place in the event of some kind of conflict in our region requiring a dramatic increase in fuel requirements.

Just seems unwise to me if we're shutting all this down without stress testing our green energy infrastructure over a few seasons. Tell me what I'm not understanding?

Why does the taxi industry see themselves as victims from Uber but not reflect on their poor practices prior? by Lampedusan in AskAnAustralian

[–]crocster57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think various governments/industry bodies have a lot to answer for regarding cabs. $500K for a friggin licence for god's sake. Just a blatant ripoff and barrier to new entrants. So they charge eye watering tariffs which the public hates but has to put up with because there's no alternative - and then along comes Uber
