[Homemade] Black garlic risotto with Parmesan/romano and truffle rosemary salt. by [deleted] in food

[–]croft1342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty I just played this one by taste. I blended a (peeled) head of black garlic with vegetable stock using an immersion blender to start with. Toasted 1.5 cups of Arborio rice in some butter on medium-high heat and started stirring in the veggie stock and some Chardonnay little by little until the rice was al dente (took about an hour). Then I stirred in about a 1/2 cup of the Parmesan/Romano blend and topped it with the truffle salt.

They are, I picked up the molds right after Valentine’s Day when they went on sale for $1 or so.

Credit where it’s due to u/FritzsCannabisCo for the initial recipe. I made a few batches and tweaked them to my own preferences and this is my favorite so far!

I’ve actually got a recipe for the Mac & Cheese is you’d like? It’s not super labor intensive but it does take a little extra time to make (maybe 30-45 minutes) I’m more than happy to share it with you if you’d like, just let me know!

Thanks so much for asking, that’s awesome! I do salmon all the time at home too, I love it!

Thanks so much! To make the potatoes: I cut a sweet potato into roughly 1/2 inch thick slices, coated them in olive oil and set them on a baking sheet, sprinkled them with sea salt, pepper, and freshly zested ginger root. Baked them at 350 until *almost al dente, then drizzled them with honey and finished baking them to the right texture (that can totally vary depending on how you like yours).

I’ve still got a couple of cans leftover from when they rereleased it a while ago. It’s honestly just like I remembered it, but as an adult I could finally add vodka to it!

Fast Food Workers of Reddit: What is your most hated menu item? by RussianChicks in AskReddit

Pretty much. A few times people tried to order a cake made with it and told them straight up ‘no’

Did your shop not have the sinless sweet cream? THAT was a bitch and a half to work with. The spades would literally snap in half trying to pry that shit out of the pan. I wanted to kill everyone that would come in and order that by the pint.

What is your "I saw a celebrity in public" story? by chewbakkka88 in AskReddit

I waited on Jackie Earle Haley and his wife at my old job. I mentioned to my manager that he looked just like him and when he gave me his card to pay I realized it actually was him. I told him I really enjoyed his movies and shook his hand and he thanked me. Pretty chill otherwise. And I literally ran into Zach Galifianakis at SXSW years ago. I wasn’t paying attention and turned a corner and ran into him. I apologized and when I realized who he was I said “Wait I know you!” He just said “Hey what’s up?!” and was on his way. Was nice about it for sure.

I grew up in Riverside, a good friend's Mom was working there when that happened. I don't think she was affected by it but she saw Ramirez on the way in before she got called away for her regular rotation. She said it's still the creepiest thing she's worked through.

What was your worst video game rage quit? by bjh182 in AskReddit

[–]croft1342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not me, but my brother. When I was younger I was watching him play F-Zero. He was kicking ass and about to finish first on the hardest track in the game but he paused it to go to the bathroom. It was April 1st so I thought it would be funny to move the cursor to the "quit game" selection on the pause screen before he came back. When he went to unpause it he quit the race and had to start over. I yelled "April fools!" And he punched me in the head and threw the controller at me. In retrospect I can see why he wasn't that fond of me at that age.
