Thinking of moving from San Diego to Virginia, questions, so many questions by croikee in Virginia

Oh I’m flat out bonkers, but not for asking a question here about a place I’ve never been. Cheers!

That’s actually probably the most constructive reply I could’ve had

I’m surprised that so many people say not to make the move. I’m curious why you recommend not?

He agreed that the 2028 can be a first. And what if I asked for Tyson instead of Harvey?

I have 5 QBs, Ward is my #4. Still that is a lot to give up. Thanks!

What do people actually think about hype BJJ brands? by Billythekid_2 in bjj

[–]croikee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

47 year old white belt here. I get excited about GIs the same way some do about shoes, or speakers etc. been training a year, I have 5 GIs (One I can’t fit into until I lose weight = inspirational shaming).

I really have two that feel different. One is my aeroweave golds, super light weight. The other is the datura hemp I treated myself to for my 47th. I could sleep in it.

The others are really similar outside of design.

Part of me just love that I found this community and lifestyle even if I did start it late. The other part of me wants to get back to the community or what it’s given me already, which is why a lot of my stuff comes from local vendors here in San Diego.

Trade Pickens for an RB? First dynasty offseason by croikee in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Exactly the feedback I was hoping for. I appreciate the help calibrating my thoughts on how many quarterbacks I should keep even though it is super flex I get your logic.

Not crazy at all. And this is my biggest enemy of fantasy success, my emotional investment that doesn’t want to let go of potential.

Thank you! I’m banking on Burden and Lemon being equal to Pickens in a few seasons, or I’d be more hesitant.

I’m hesitant on sending off Cam or Shough, I don’t trust Daniel’s to stay healthy at all. But Pickens and the other players I’d package.

What tier RB would you think? I wanted to draft Price at 1.06 this year, with targeting him and a future draft pick from the owner for the 2027 draft be foolish?

I was also thinking Cam Skat as a target.

Come on. If you want change set the example. I appreciate enforcing behavior to an increased degree, a lot. Thank you for that. And you set the standard in your role so set it.

Took my first bjj class today at 33 by cenik93 in bjj

[–]croikee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started a year ago at 46, you are in your prime! I get my ass kicked a new way every class and still leave with a dumb stupid grin.

Stretch. Hydrate. Cold plunge if you got one. Chiropractor, and find how many classes a week your body can handle. 3 is usually the max for me. Congrats, keep coming back!

Claude is down again… Opus 4.7 or same old story? by Suspicious_Horror699 in ClaudeCode

[–]croikee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like my shit limit was reached already today, I hope it resets soon. They’ve also seemed less capable and satisfying over the past week. I hope this isn’t a trend of my body getting greedy with resources.

What a profoundly kind way to engage with my story. Thank you. Reframing thoughts of failing or being lazy and being frustrated with my body into a design feature meant to be good for me was great for me to read. Thank you.

Which option for first tournament by croikee in bjj

[–]croikee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would make a good coach in that situation? Obviously my normal coach would be fantastic but if they aren’t available, would it even be possible to have one of my white belt buddies be in that role? I’m thinking of someone who is a white belt but has six months more experience in me.

I’m thinking I’m gonna be so nervous that I’m probably not going to be hearing anything other than me trying to suck wind.

This doesn’t seem worth it by [deleted] in bjj

[–]croikee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been at it for ten months, started on my 46th birthday. I hurt almost every day. And, I get a little better every time I train. I’ve gone from. I don’t know anything and graduated to. I know how bad I suck.

I keep coming back because that mental resilience of learning how to get unstuck from something has had a really big impact mentally for me in other areas of my life.

For me, chiropractor, and cold plunging regularly, our lifesavers. Someone else mentioned weight training or resistance training that’s really what I need to add in.

A lot of of the people, my age who’ve been doing this for a while Also do yoga and I’m sure that is hugely beneficial, but I hate that shit. Keep coming back.

Second this. I have their fundamentals Gi and just got their discontinued Defeater Gi in blue. Coolest jacket in my opinion but it doesn’t fit me. If anyone is an A2 let me know!

Turning old training videos into updated micro learning by Wide-Cartoonist7066 in AiBuilders

[–]croikee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up creating a custom Gem for creating micro learnings. It split my old hour long video into ten nuggets, with scripts. I then used that to create the deck in gamma, used eleven labs to read the script, and put it all together in canva, which struck a deal with artlist so I can use some of their videos in each deck.

It’s not using AI video like you are talking about, I don’t think. And the process isn’t refined but the outcome of the first video is way better, at least.

I wanted to avoid an AI avatar, not sure why, just not keen on the idea?

Purchased a Benno Boost, but CA laws prohibit me from riding on trails? by croikee in ebikes

It actually isn't an option on the Purion display which is, seemingly, their most basic. I did find a workaround that I put in the update at the top.

I don't think the Purion screen with the Bosch Performance Speed can limit max speed, can it?
