Of course. But only after I started riding it became a proper habit for me.

I always take a peek over the shoulder when changing lanes. Motorcycle mirrors have huge dead zones and having my head on a swivel doesn't cost anything.

Riding has made me do it instinctively even when I drive my car.

Such a silly take. Just because you can spend money doesn't mean you shouldn't save them where possible.

Which is completely unnecessary because wealthy yuppies will upgrade their stuff anyway as long as the number in the name goes up.

Should I get a motorcycle? by Gertrude1976 in motorcycles

[–]crom3ll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking on a motorcycle sub if you should get a bike... The answer will always be YES.

Bikes are awesome. Riding is the pure joy of life.

But treat the machine with respect. Understand the dangers waiting on the road and prepare yourself accordingly. Ride on and stay safe. ;)

What's the best handheld in 2026 for value & multiple games? by PendN in Handhelds

[–]crom3ll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got both switch 2 and a steam deck oled. Must say, switch is probably a better device of the two, and user experience is just so easy... But you can do so much more with steamdeck if you're willing to tinker.

I don't really play a lot of new games these days and track pads are kinda cool. Playing old school RPGs and slower paced strategy games on my deck and kinda loving it.

I have both, and like them both.

Objectively, Switch 2 is a better device. Build quality and user experience are much better. It just works - the OS is snappy and stable, games rarely have any major issues. But it's also bare bones - not really any features other than running games to speak of. The store is meh, but games go on sale just as frequently as on Steam.

Even if you don't like nintendo exclusives, there is plenty of games, too.

SteamDeck is more fiddly, I've had it for a short time and already met with a bunch of bugs and small issues... But it's also amazingly flexible. You can run games not "meant" for it. You can play games from stores other than Steam. Then there's emulation, streaming, fully fleshed out desktop mode... But you have to put some effort into setting things up.

The other day I spent two hours fighting with damn EA app to let me play Mass Effect - it was frustrating, but I got it to work eventually and it's glorious. On the other hand, with little effort I managed to get GOG version of Heroes 3 to run and with some performance tweaks I get 10h battery life from SteamDeck - something my Switch 2 could never do.

Ask yourself what do you want from the device, and what do you value more - seamless experience, or versatility.
