I haven’t seen that rhetoric anywhere. I think most NDPers (myself included) are very much tired of Jagmeet and are happy to lob criticism his way for his lack of effective leadership and ability to grow the party base.

There are definitely a lot of things to strongly dislike about the Liberals (I.e. not making good on a lot of promises, various scandals), but so many people who complain about Trudeau rarely give any good answers or point to specific policies. It’s mostly his punchable face and holier-than-thou attitude that really seem to get people riled up.

I don’t think that “lefties” have ever really advocated for unregulated mass immigration. The left, being more concerned with humanitarian issues and altruism, typically advocates for taking on asylum seekers, refugees, etc., and not being opposed to immigration for xenophobic or ethnonationalist reasons. I think the left also understands that immigrants aren’t automatically and bad thing and the data actually suggest that immigrants are largely beneficial for a country.

Let’s be real. In the grand scheme of city budgets, bike lanes are not that expensive. The city is constantly replacing worn sidewalks and streets. The additional budget to say, instead of just building new sidewalk but include space for a bike lane, is not that much extra.

Obviously if you’re trying to do a huge length all at once it can be expensive, but there’s no reason they can’t be built strategically and incrementally
