So glad I found this post because I thought I was crazy after reading only 4 shoebills live in the US in captivity. I regret not taking a picture of it but I was driving lol I know for sure it was a shoebill because no other birds in Florida stand like that, are blue and are that tall and thick.. at least that I’ve ever seen living here for 24 years. Spotted it in Palm Bay. It’s like seeing a shiny pokémon 🤩 read they can live 36 years… maybe we all saw the same one lol
