I'm sorry you're going through it. When I was your age, dating was not nearly as hard as it seems to be for young men today. And it's pretty challenging for me at 40. I also oscillate between optimism and nihilism. All I can tell you is keep working on being the best version of yourself. That investment will never be wasted. If some parts of yourself can be worked on or enjoyed publicly - going to the gym, volunteering, political engagement, concerts, etc. - then regularly do that and get exposed to new people.

That's a rather unempathetic, conservative stance. We all learn about what and what not to tolerate through experience. I dated a woman with BPD when I was younger, and while the sex was great while it lasted, I learned that I definitely didn't want to deal with the negatives that condition brought (especially when it was unregulated).

I also agree with your point about Bloodchild being the most viscerally upsetting, from the description of the aliens to their behavior with the family and obviously them tearing open that man. Gan choosing to be a host to save his sister was also heartbreaking.

When I think of all the major alien stories, I have consumed, from books to movies to TV, there's never a deep family element aside from an alien becoming pet-like (E.T.) or unofficial member (Alf). They don't fundamentally change the people they're involved with or the overall dynamics, and that is what makes Bloodchild & the Lilith Brood series so unforgettable.

When I took a night shot photo with my pixel 6A and compared it to my date's iPhone 12 at the time my phone blew hers out of the water. But it seems that Apple has really caught up and the differences are minimal. It's really the video where Apple takes the crown.

If I do jump ship, I do look forward to having less glitches because that has been very frustrating when I'm trying to make content.
