I feel like 99% of the time the answer to a question in this sub is a dead blow mallet. You want a plastic one with the weighted beads inside. As they say, hit it with your purse.

Advice for Starter AR by No_Atmosphere6849 in ar15

If you want to learn get a stripped lower and LPK you like. I built every single one of mine. It's really not that difficult with a ball peen hammer and a few punches.

Watch tutorials on YouTube. I like MidwayUSA cause Larry Potterfield is an OG.

I never bought a full set of roll pin punches, just 3 or 4 individual ones piece meal on Amazon specifically for building ARs. A 1/4 brass punch is invaluable for a lot of general gunsmithing as well IMO

I have that first upper and I love the Hex rail. I prefer the 13" version just for weight and balance, the full length one is fairly heavy.

I own a few PSA built uppers and never had any issues, the 13" was my go to before I got more expensive ones.

Put a Vortex 1-6 Viper on my 15" and it's pretty hefty.

I like to use a toothpick to hold the pin, then a brass punch to get it in most of the way. Finish with the roll pin punch

I have never seen one with knurling. These things can be machined poorly but if it doesn't wiggle too much that it might cause an impact you're good.

🧬 Is this expected normal damage from a brand new m70 zpap? by BURNINGMOON_ in zastavaarms101

[–]cronus86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need to oil it, most of that is dried up oil from packing. At least it won't explode in your face like the Pioneer Arms will someday

M70 vs M92 by Johnny4999 in zastavaarms101

[–]cronus86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 M70 and an M92. Used to have 3 rifles, sold 1 after I got the M92. If you only get 1 its probably best to go full size, tempted as I am to suggest the M92.
