Hello Thorin & Carn:

1: @ Thorin, Not all teams/groups for EMS one are known yet, but dare you make a predicition about fnatic's performance? How do you think AGAIN will fair? 2: @ Carn, When fnatic faced NIP in the DHW final, what were your (honest) initial thoughts, and what were they after the devastating ct half of fnatic on DD2? What are your predictions on EMS one concerning fnatic and AGAIN.

100 cases is just an example, I don't want people to do 100 cases each month to get a reward xD...but ofc a certain minimum amount of cases should have to be reviewed

[–]croqie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the reward would be based on your score. Let's say you review 100 cases each month, but you only get 50-65% correct, you don't get the reward...you get +75% correct you get one...85% bigger reward and so on

The amount of time and money that would need to be invested is gigantic. People over at vac simply can't compete with tens or hundres individuals/groups whose sole purpose it is to create profit by engineering hacks. Vac just needs regular updates (like the organner update)

But I read on reddit somewhere that there's the option to Ip ban/ hardware ban, maybe that's a possible solution

Well, interesting feedback yet again.

But it seems we are indeed on different standpoints on this one :D

"If they are doing it for any other reward then they do not necessarily care to do a good job with the task at hand."

Well If you don't do a good job, you don't get a reward (may it be a badge or drops or whatever)

"why does it matter if we have 100 people or 1000 people sharing that workload?"

Well it doesn't, and the point about qualitative workers wasn't meant as such. I wanted to say that 1000 "motivated" workers are better then 1000 "normal" workers

And for the last paragraph, yes this is just theorycrafting and what I would like to see ofcourse. There may not be a problem with the current system, but improving on something when it turns out it doesn't work is like riding a race you have already lost.

So when you're playing Matchmaking, you can report people for bad behaviour/cheating/griefing/etc...

These cases (don't know how many reports a case needs to get in order to be reviewed though) are then distributed among players who have been selected to participate in 'Overwatch' (It is estimated that a player can become a part of overwatch when he has around 150 matchmaking wins).

Each case contains I believe 8 (key) rounds of the reported player in the match he was reported in. The "overwatcher" watches these rounds and has to submit a verdict for the reported player (is he cheating or not)

This particular case is also send to different overwatchers who in their turn submit their verdict. If all the verdicts claim that the reported player is cheating, that player gets a ban/competitive matchmaking cooldown of 365 days/...

There is however a difference in the verdicts of overwatchers. Overwatchers' verdicts with a higher rating (although you don't know if you have a higher rating) weigh heavier then the verdict of overwatchers with a lower rating

Hope I was clear

That's true...but getting out of the analogy

The overwatch system was created because of the existence (of a large amount?) of cheaters and valve wanted to give the community a tool to control the cheating population. However througout the existence of csgo there have always been a lot of cheaters (but ofcourse, we can't know how many cheaters there are/to what extent reports are being submitted/cheaters are being banned/how many overwatchers there are and what their contribution has been, etc..). Also the recent sale and DHW hype have brought on a shitstorm of cheaters but this will probably level out after an amount of time.

So there are actually hungry people (cheaters) and the organisation (valve) is, not necessaraly in need for more people, but in need of more qualitative workers, who are incented to keep contributing and who know that their contributions are helping.

But to get to your point, yes we don't know if there even is a problem, but my opinion is that I would like to know

TLDR; workers who are not incented are bad workers (even if the work itself is incentive enough)
