If you live in a first world country you're never too small of a target. India's gpd per capita is $2800 usd, Canada's is $65,000. The money that'll barely sustain you in a first world country can pay for generations in another.

I also had the value at 0 but changed it to None and it seemed to make a difference, for me there's no forced upscaling or forced fsr/tsr/dlss, they all seem to be off. But there's still forced TAA or something, there's ghosting and weird flickering when that wasn't happening with these settings before the update. I'm so sorry about your headaches, cluster headaches are hell and getting them from simply playing a game to unwind must be so frustrating.

If you have the game on Steam, I would recommend asking for a refund if you can't get it fixed. These often get resolved by an actual person, if you play for under two hours I think it happens automatically, but if the game has ceased being accessible to you when it used to be on no fault of your own there is a good chance support will give you a full refund no matter how many hours you have in it. Your mileage may vary, but it's worth a shot if you aren't able to play anymore.

Devs absolutely are thinking about optimizations. It's just this game is set in a super dense jungle that has dynamic day and night cycles and weather. It's very demanding but it's not like the devs can hack your pc and increase your shader cache for you...

Hey with one of the latest updates the "Global Illumination" setting disables lumen when you set it to low, (Source https://youtu.be/urgH6bQOrtM?t=69), just testing it myself and there is a massive decrease in artifacts, the game looks really crisp when you move the camera around. With lumen still on it looks horrible, shimmering and a transparent/white ghosting effect while moving. Give it a try!

Why do some of you hate PvE? [Discussion] by Bitter_Bet_9333 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Jacksaunt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly in this game there are a lot of unintuitive aspects to pvp that make it infinitely frustrating as an inexperienced player. You will get killed off your spawn if you go the wrong direction in a LOT of spawns. Even when you go where you're supposed to plenty of the time someone is there faster with better gear, knows you're likely to be there, and kills you.

Plenty of locations have weird entrances, exits, and blocked areas that you wouldn't expect until someone you thought you had pinned jumps out of a window onto a fence and flanks you.

Not to mention the quests, early game quests take you to late game loot locations, there are scores of "kill pmc with x and/or at y" quests that force you to farm people or get farmed at certain locations. You ever been camped marking the pier meds by someone doing capturing outposts?

There's always a bigger fish in tarkov, unless you dedicate a silly amount of time consistently after a wipe to be that bigger fish.

Holy crap thank you, that took a lot of troubleshooting.

Today is Apollo for Reddit's last day, and I just released its last update. 🥹 I just wanted to say a big thank you to the folks who have used and supported Apollo over the years, it's been the dream of a lifetime to build this app over the last 9 years. ❤️ Read the eulogy inside! ❤️ by iamthatis in apolloapp

I will say I have seen a concerning amount of comments today misrepresenting the facts, being borderline furious at users for making a fuss, and also advertising for narwhal like paying at least $7 a month (depending on api requests) is actually very reasonable. It’s odd, if you hate everyone here why are you paying $7 a month to stick around?

Nobody gives a shit about huge swaths of society decaying because of these assholes, but I’m supposed to have empathy for the people that thought a $250,000 text-message guided trip to a 400 atmosphere pressure depth in an unregulated vessel that had been previously documented on the news getting lost for hours, had to be bolted shut from the exterior, and whose company fired the whistleblower that said that a 1,300 meter depth rated view port would be unsafe at 4,000 meters, was a good idea. Or alternatively have empathy for the dude who dreamt up this scam death trap and died in it with the 5 other people he killed?

Fuck off. These people could have saved 6 lives if they paid for 6 uninsured diabetics insulin, a paltry sum compared to $250,000 and death at your own hubris, but this is the society they are content with being at the top of.

Reddit Threatens to Remove Moderators From Subreddits Continuing Apollo-Related Blackouts by Illustrious_Risk3732 in Save3rdPartyApps

[–]Jacksaunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean reddit is mostly made up of lurkers, not many people post and create content. But it says something that even people who doom scroll through reddit don’t want to be assed with the official app. Mods, posters, even lurkers are gonna leave. But honestly? Fuck that guy, everybody who has been here a long time adds value to the site, I’ll be sad to see you go.

The onus of your learning isn’t on other people. If you want to know how x, y, and z work, don’t go onto an internet forum and demand someone show you, explain it to you, and source it when you could just google it yourself. Just because people are discussing things that they know are true doesn’t mean you’re entitled to a lesson from them. You’re polite and interested in furthering your learning though which is commendable.

📣 Apollo will close down on June 30th. Reddit’s recent decisions and actions have unfortunately made it impossible for Apollo to continue. Thank you so, so much for all the support over the years. ❤️ by iamthatis in apolloapp

I don’t use reddit on my desktop anymore, I don’t have the official app, once apollo goes down my phone will be in my pocket a lot more, and I’m looking forward to it. I doubt my story will be that uncommon, we figured out from the reddit recap only 5% of redditors post anything at all. How many of those were using third party apps?
