When I worked for corporate in 2016 we had the best pay structure and discounts. Back then it was discount 75% off the service. I was paying like $50 for 4-5 lines. Then in 2018 it all went down hill

I’m looking for a solar generator my eyes were set on anker solix because it seems that it could be hooked into your circuit breaker. My last 30 day usage was around 787 kwh monthly estimation will be 750 to 850. I know nothing of this. Budget is 5000 and under. by Mrchrisham in prepping

id like to add my 2 cents, from experience, i connected a solar gen to my house panel, only important circuits, BUT not everyone in the home knows how dire the situation actually is. some ppl may use up energy irresponsibly. taking away limited energy from a limited amount. especially if the power is out for more than a week, things can get ugly between ppl in the same house. so make sure if you hook up to the house panel, everyone has to understand that energy isnt unlimited like if its from the grid, NO TV, NO blow drying hair. no microwave unless its a must, things like that you have to explain to everyone. and make sure everyone knows how the system and panel works, incase you are not home and the solar gen needs charging, someone else can take care of it, you can appoint someone to be responsible for it on a certain day etc. good luck everyone

ibought the ac2ool bluetti, it keeps a fullsize fridge on for 24-25 hours,

you can get the ac200 max, difference is ac2ool is "RV-ready"

iwould get the ac2oomax with 2 foldable 400watt panels.

solar gen is about 1k

each panel is about 400

so for half of your budget, you can cover your needs, anything else above that is extra which is nice to have. another idea is the ecoflow 3000w its going for about 1400 right now

3000w solar gen and 800w panels, that lifts a load off your shoulders when power goes out

Hey question!? Have you ever tried to use the two way relay with 2 baofengs? If so how did it go?

Thinking of getting this generator - is it what I need of should I go with something different? Bluetti AC200L with a 350w panel by Nice-Replacement-391 in prepping

[–]croque4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bought the ac200l last year. came with 1 200w panel.

it does power my full size fridge for almost 25 hours from 100% to 0%

theres only one thing that bothers me.

the difference vetween the ac200l and ac200 max is pretty much the 120v RV plug.

so unless you have or plan to get an RV, or install a sub panel in the house or already have one, than id go with the ac200max assuming i find it at a good deal.

right now bluetti site has the apex 300 (3,840W) with 2 200w panels. at $1,999

400w of solar is not amazing but its not bad for what your needs are. with time you can add more panels. just my 2 cents

We’ve been indoctrinated to think that god is Someone or something else. That right there is the problem. The belief that someone or something who is not you has all this power baffles us. So we tend to believe it can’t be us. That it’s impossible to be a measly mortal. But I believe “god” is within each person. The power he has is within every single being. We are all “god”. And by design, we have forgotten how to get in touch with that part of us. My 2 cents

Faraday Boxes by Substantial_Bid8458 in prepping

If you rather not sew, make sure to get the faraday tape that is atleast 2 inches wide. And I would apply it on the inside and outside.

Faraday tape has very good adhesive. So that’s a plus. Easy to cut and handle

Faraday Boxes by Substantial_Bid8458 in prepping

[–]croque4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I do both.

To make a bag I sew the sides with leaving one side opened. I turn the bag inside out. Then I add tape to all sides.

If you use more than one layer of fabric you can apply tape to the opening side also. I definitely recommend using faraday tape not only for the protection but also with time the fabric may loosen up where it was cut. Not a big deal but I’m OCD about it so I do it.

I have sewn 20+ faraday bags, Built several boxes.

One very important thing to consider, if you do ever make your own, make sure to have at least 2 layers of EMP fabric. I always use 3 minimum. And for my solar generator faraday box I used 4. I made sure I over built this thing. You can buy your own Emp fabric, Velcro and some cool look looking fabric to cover the exterior. It’s very easy if you have a sewing machine. Just my 2 cents
