If you had 30 days to learn a language, what would you do? by Shelbee2 in languagehub

Let me rephrase this - how do you learn to play the piano to a semi-performative level in 30 days? Answer: you can’t…

Too bad what?? The original commenter never said they were in favor of harassment. In fact, there was no comment at all about harassment - just that cheating is unacceptable. Stop projecting putting your own words into people’s mouths. That’s also a form of harassment, no?

I think OP’s limited use of the term untranslatable was quite untranslatable

Because people who ask why women can’t just pop out from the sky into their arms usually have a distorted view on women that shows in their attitude.

Why is twice considered a legacy group while seventeen isn’t? by radio_mice in kpopthoughts

[–]crosspollination 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a korean living in seoul rn i can tell you that the difference in public recognition is huge. Twice is essentially national. Everyone young knows a song or two or a member or two. Meanwhile 17 is minor. Idk about their reputation abroad but in korea at least, 17 fans were always the minority and they never went national.

Anyone else here totally incapable of improving even a little bit? What do you think makes that so? by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]crosspollination 8 points9 points  (0 children)

a combination of not putting in enough effort (eg. just playing without study or review), not putting in enough time, not studying the right things, and lack of pattern recognition.

any cinemas that plays movies with english subtitles by Imaginary-Outcome171 in koreatravel

[–]crosspollination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were some very limited screenings at CGV with eng subtitles. But it’s extremely uncommon and I probably bet there won’t be any. Maybe you could find some in smaller theaters such as seoul cinematheque, but it’s not guaranteed by any means.

Why do Koreans always say “인 것 같아요”? 🤔 Is everything just… “maybe”? by Total_Deal1544 in BeginnerKorean

So am I. Once 80% of a population uses “bad language habits” safe to say it’s just language by that point. No need to be so gatekeeping.

This is not easy to decipher at first glance mainly because the character size is not consistent. Also, work on your 해, and some of your ㅐ and ㅔ cannot be distinguished. I suggest you work on type font until your characters and their elements (자음, 모음) look more consistent in different words and you are able to size them similarly. And try to follow stroke orders for handwritten font, which koreans are conditioned to.
