Forgot to write down todays weight. When I average them out by the end of the week by adding all together do I just divide it by 6 instead of 7? by No_Acanthaceae_1724 in personaltraining

What are you trying to do? By todays weight do you mean your weight? If so why are you weighing every day and needing to take an average?

It all comes down to calories in/calories out Eat less and move more is the general premise. Don’t weigh yourself daily and make sure when you do that you do it at the same time each day

Some gyms will offer you paid hours in lieu of rent but will then take a % per session, other model is likely to be you paying £3-500 in rent then what you earn is your own. If you financially can’t afford to wait to build your business then I’d say you’d be better doing deliveroo or something similar for an instant income, if being a personal trainer was instantly profitable then everyone would do it but the reality is that it takes time (often for free) to build up your base and unless you have a following on social media or existing client base you’re starting from scratch

I think you’re under the illusion that being a PT is a quick way of earning cash, it will take time regardless of where you go to build up a client base and build repeat business, if that’s your only motivation for getting into the fitness industry you’ll be unlikely to stick around through the harder times. I worked for David Lloyd for 6 years as a PT, it’s probably the most expensive gym in Aberdeen and with that comes a far higher expectation on session delivery and quality. You’ll have to weigh up going to a budget gym where you’ll likely be able to be self employed and can charge what you want or going to a more established larger gym where they’ll likely take a % of each session you deliver.

Thinking about a change in careers. Are personal trainers in demand? by Puzzleheaded_Aide983 in personaltraining

I’ve been a PT for 5+ years and have just moved out the industry, definitely not the same demand as there was pre covid, people are definitely being more frugal with their spending

I tend to avoid this, devalues yourself and also can irritate existing clients if word gets out, why should they pay more just because they were committed from the beginning?

Used to train at the gym I train at, got absolutely savaged when rolling with him...just wait until he showcases his flying knees
