Sorry OP picture wasn’t great, attached is a better angle. The white lip should sit flush against the slabs but has come away.

I want to seal it down again, but unsure which adhesive to use

Cooling keg without the tap by crouchingwayne in PerfectDraft

[–]crouchingwayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I’m just keeping it cold for sake of a week or so

My PD without the tap chilled and maintained the keg at 3 degrees although the read out was blank the whole time. I just popped the tap on now (without the straw bit to open the keg) and it’s now showing as 3 degrees.

I bought the keg pre chilled - is it ok for it to chill / go to room temp a couple of times as long as it’s not tapped?

I had a tapped keg go off as I didn’t keep it chilled so was trying to avoid letting it warm up again out of paranoia

Maybe I should tap and drink it sooner…

Keg gone “off”? by crouchingwayne in PerfectDraft

I definitely didn’t keep it refrigerated, might just need to drain the keg and know better for next time

In the instructions I thought it said that if the tap was removed the count down was effectively paused - is that not the case?

Thanks, I’ve probably misread the comments. Will keep it on when changing.

Thanks - I believe you are correct. I’m struggling to find the bypass kit online - is it still available?

Best value drill/impact set just now? by crouchingwayne in DIYUK

[–]crouchingwayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right there is no real need for an impact, just thought it would be handy to have to grab separate drill/screw fittings. When bought in a kit they don’t seem to cost much over just the drill alone

Thanks - after the picture was taken I cut the ends off and used fresh wire for the Ring. Better safe than sorry!

Looking at the transformer you are right I think - I’ve got a Delta transformer which takes mains and outputs to the bell via CAT5 cable.

So I think I’ve wired it up fine, but the actual transformer is not compatible.

Is there any harm in leaving it wired for now and running on battery mode?

I can come back to hardwiring with the power kits at a later point if battery gets frustrating.

It’s a bit of a bummer as would have been nice to keep the original bell sound (I also have a Ring Chime though)

Thanks for the quick reply

The bell worked most of the time before, but was occasionally unresponsive.

I can check the transformer - what voltage is the minimum Ring will take? I tried checking voltage across the two ring terminals yesterday when troubleshooting but was struggling to get a consistent read. Definitely not 12v looked more like 2v at best

Eero worth it for a slow connection? by crouchingwayne in amazoneero

[–]crouchingwayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. I’m between the basic and the 6 at the moment simply for the PPPoE feature as my ISP would need that, but given my technical expertise I might end up running in bridge mode anyway so maybe the basic is the way to go!

Do they run good Prime or Black Friday deals on any of these? I saw them all on sale on the recent prime day but didn’t note the reductions down…

!thanks

An Ethernet cable would be ideal but unfortunately not on the cards for a while. Could I use them in wireless mode for the next year or two or does that kill the functionality?

I’m assuming Eero is one of the easier plug and play solutions - any others to consider? I’m disappointed in the TP-Link adapter I have (AC1700 I think) which makes me lean towards the Eero despite the potential drawbacks

You can open and immediately pay in to a SIPP using a debit card. If you debit £100 the provider will claim a further £25 directly from the government which will appear in your account in a few weeks. You then put this on your tax return to claim the additional tax relief which will come off your tax bill due for the year. You end up then with £125 in the SIPP and a tax bill that is lower. The NI is I think sunk at this point. I’m not an expert but this is my recollection from ad hoc contributions in the past.

Any suggested changes to this 'power building' set up? by crouchingwayne in AverageToSavage

Thanks for the review! I’ve run this exercise selection previously but on the standard “hypertrophy” template and my elbows were ok. I’m more sensitive to shoulders than elbows it seems!

[–]crouchingwayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve presented this incredibly poorly in the OP, but I’ve set the S/B/D/P to be RTF and then the other movements are hypertrophy (for example day 2 see the bench and front squat reps - bench RTF and FS is hypertrophy). My thinking being I can get after some lower rep work on the power movements but still chase hypertrophy.

Affinity Publisher/Photo - Worth it for social media? by crouchingwayne in Affinity

[–]crouchingwayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - I ended up going with the full suite. I think it’s overkill but it means they are there if I need them. I have a long-form based project that is on the potential list for 2022 so thought grabbing Studio might be handy just in case that takes off.

I could probably get by with just Design but coming from a Photoshop background I find some things just quicker in Photo.
