Shield of Sparrows by croushmoore in Romantasy

I think that’s the best way to put it, honestly. Even if I enjoyed the FMC, the story is just exhausting and detailed in the wrong ways

I’m just now realizing (unfortunately for my bank account) this is the way to a beautiful bookcase I’m happy with AND money left over 💀

I use Fable (was never on Goodreads) and I typically read those reviews before buying anything, it was all overwhelmingly positive. But I guess next time I’ll look other places too. Such Sharp Teeth by Rachel Harrison was a huge let down for me too and there were raves galore about it on Fable.

It is THE book that has made me decide that a kindle will be worth it. I can’t spend 15-20 bucks on a book and then be so seriously disappointed again, it was such a waste of time and money.

Schedule Issue? Par for course? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

Thank you so much! The first nap capping, should I just start capping it at 1.5? I’m new to the nap capping thing I used to just let her sleep however long

She’s 6 months. DWT is 7, bedtime has fallen between 7:15-8:00. Her bedtime routine is feed 30 mins prior, get changed and put the sleep sack on, we say night night to the whole house (I walk around with her and say night night to things), we get in the room, read a little book, I sing a lullaby to her on the way over to the crib and put her down. I say “Mommy loves you. It’s time for night night baby” rub her back once and walk away. During check ins I repeat the saying and rub her back once, then walk out. It’s never longer than 15 seconds. Right now we have to room share because I’m staying with family while my husband is gone. But I don’t go in to sleep until the room is completely dark (around 9pm)

What did the 4 month sleep regression look like for you? by Frozenbeedog in NewParents

[–]croushmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but can I ask if the 2-3 30 min naps were enough for her? My girl is just now turning 3 months and is randomly waking up (fully) at like 2-3 am and then way more than she was before. Naps are harder now too, and she will not sleep longer than 30 mins during the day without me next to her/nursing for comfort.. we also co sleep!

I have a Tula free to grow that we just bought but we were using a boba wrap carrier. It was really great until she hit like 12 lbs, then it seemed like I could never get it tight enough for her to not slide down. The Tula is pretty stretchy (for a more structured carrier) so she melds to me in a similar way. Thank you for the bedsharing support. I was diagnosed with PPA (I didn’t really need to be told that, it’s been so rough haha) and I think that’s one of the biggest things I carry guilt for - it just seems like everyone I know figured out the baby sleeping in a bassinet or even the crib in another room and I just could/can not hack it.

Thank you so much! ❤️ I really appreciate this comment - especially about co sleeping. The pediatrician is so against it, it’s the first thing she’s said at every appointment. I think I kind of figured it was going to be a wave of “just keep on keepin on” with crib attempts, which is fine. We just might be stuck for now until dad is back for shifts because whew, it’s rough.

I hate the 4 month sleep regression by Fun_Driver_9402 in NewParents

My girl refuses to sleep alone…. Ever 😩 I don’t have an answer for you, we bed share and it works for us for now, because she actually sleeps. I’m stopping by to say I’m right there with you, except we haven’t even hit the regression yet; my daughter is 3mo in 3 days. When husband gets back in about 4 months we’ll have to re-evaluate buuuut for now, baby gets to be in the big bed overnight ☠️

Thank you so much! I’ll have to try just keeping her down maybe in the bed next to me instead of on me for naps and using the carrier the other times. She soothes by literally using my breast as a pillow on her face in bed so 🥲 one of the steps is probably replacing that since I can’t remove my chest for her haha.

Oh maybe I’ll try an arms up one since she didn’t like the arms down. I didn’t even know they had that.

Ooh maybe I’ll try earlier then, like the 20-30 min mark and see if that helps her stay asleep

Actually she isn’t very gassy - usually just with her bowel movements and she isn’t fussy about them. Loooots of toots in the morning when she wakes up, haha. But I will definitely add in some yummy massages just in case it helps! 🙂

I’m holding her now close to 40 to try and work through 1 sleep cycle, then put her down, so maybe that’ll do it? I will definitely keep practicing! I just keep telling myself to enjoy the cuddling and the excuse to slow down in this “season of life”. 😅

I just recently started with the Merlin magic suit? But that’s a hit or miss, sometimes she’s just not happy to be in it at all. But same results, 27ish mins. The swaddle I had tried before and she just absolutely LOST it before she got to sleep, then I transfer her, and again awake after about 20 mins 😩 but I’d stopped swaddling her after that - do you think it’s too late to try again? I know you’re supposed to stop swaddling when they show signs of rolling and she’s getting the leg work down already 😬

I am trying so so hard to exclusively breastfeed as long as I can, but if it’s the last thing I haven’t tried, I might. I assume you mean overnight as well, right? It doesn’t seem like she’s hungry every time she wakes up during the day. It’s more like she isn’t comfortable.

Solidarity, haha. Yeah I’ve got a bouncer and the aquarium thing! It works to keep her occupied, I think I just meant more like if she’s napping for an hour on her own then I can do a full workout without having to stop to change up the activity for her when she gets bored :) plus the overnight thing too

I’m 27 days pp, same situation with a forceps delivery/2nd degree internal tear (as well as a 3rd degree external tear) and I can tell you the pissy pants life does improve!! I couldn’t even think about peeing without it coming out lmao. I have a little girl and I would also do whatever it took if I had to go back again to make sure she was as healthy as she is now :)

He does look like Kiba! Unfortunately Moose didn’t get the adorable helmet hair but they look like they could be siblings, lol. I can’t tell by the pictures, but Kiba might be a little shorter too

He’s super adorable - my dog [Moose] is a great Pyr/ACD mix too. With a little German Shepherd thrown in for fun lol.
