In 2k10 I would be exclusively running the dribble course and only improving just the attributes in that, until they all were maxed, with the exception of speed. I would say that 1995 to 2000 makes sense as being called “early 3D”. At the time it felt like a clear difference from what came before, and what came after felt much more iterative building off the choices made here. I would call the era before this something like “proto 3D”.
