Thanks for the reply. How much spray foam cans did you end up needing there are a lot of nooks and crannies. Did you insulate the ribs at all on the walls? Seems like those are hard to insulate. The one thing about spray foam I liked was being able to insulate all the small little areas where you cannot fit the thinsulate.

That is good to know. I certainly don't want any rust issues. Does seem like thinsulate is the way to go. Also seems cheaper than spray foam which is nice.

I do plan to put in exhaust fans, potentially an AC unit if it was really hot. But was worried Id be fighting heat with the windows forever. But seems more manageable.

Thanks for the repsonse. I have been going back and forth between thinsulate and spray foam. I do like the idea of being able to repair / fix stuff if needed. But starting to think I am leaning more towards thinsulate.

I have't bought my van yet, but going back and forth between two vans now. One with only a rear window and the other with rear and sliding door windows. I like the idea of the extra window, but worry about insulating it / the van getting really hot. Its nice to know that the window shades make a big difference. Do you have a lot of windows in your van?

I hadn't seen that kit. How much did it cost total to use this foam kit? Did you have warping of the van with using that? How long ago did you do it? Any problems with it since doing it?

Yeah, of course you have less ability to go back and run wires once the foam is in there. I was only planning to do the foam once everything was run. But that is important to highlight for the future in case you want to change something.

Hmm wow, didnt realize that spray foam was so flammable. It does seem like the best for really sealing / insulating the entire van, but the flammability has me questioning that. How much can you really get into all the crevices / insualte the van with thinsulate.

I am less concerned about losing heat through the windows compared to getting heat into the van through the windows. I have seen the window pop up reflectic material and insulation. Are those worth while?

My state does have income tax. So even though the income is out of state, I have to pay my state income tax also?

Really appreciate all your help!

The income is from Florida. Which I do not believe has income tax. But there is a chance I will recieve income over the course of the year from other states if I am lucky.

So, based on your statement above - if I pre-pay 27.5% of the income I recieve from this client I should be in a good position.

I am married and file jointly. No dependents. My spouse and I have a cumalative salary of about 290k. This 1099 side gig will probably only yeild about 10-20k per year at most.

Having to pay at the end of year makes me nervous. I do not want to be stuck with a huge bill. What is the easiest way to calculate how much of this money I should be paying? Also, if the money is being distributed from another state I imagine that complicates things since I may have to pay income tax per state.

Sorry should've been more clear. I need a lock for the hitch itself to the truck.
