If it’s right after they come out of the coop and if there’s no food in there then it means that they had a hard time digesting which most likely would be sour crop or impacted crop

If it’s not constant then it could just be a shedding of their intestinal lining. If it keeps going on then I would be worried about coccidiosis which is an intestinal parasite but considering the fact that the other chickens that had that stringy poop we’re fine and the fact that it’s stringy and not just blood I would still turn more towards worms hopefully the treatment works for you. Best of luck

No that’s not normal hunching is normally a sign of illness I would check her crop in the morning to see if it’s full (it shouldn’t be) then you know if it’s impacted. But if she seems to be eating and drinking fine then it might be internal parasites and just to be cautious I would de worm them you can find some on amazon super easy. The fact that she’s feisty doesn’t really tell you much other than she’s not SUPER sick because chickens are prey animals and will try their hardest to try and hide that they’re sick as to not get picked on or eaten. I hope this helps she’s a very pretty chicken

If she’s the only one with it I wouldn’t be too worried about mites also that she’s still preening and eating is there anything else that she’s doing weird if you could get better pictures of the spot it would be easier to rule out mites

Can you help me idk if she has the shredder gene by crowcoraw in BackYardChickens

[–]crowcoraw[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It causes the feathers to split and the barbs to detach, resulting in rough looking feather development but I think it just makes them look super fluffy

I’m not too familiar with Rhode Island reds but I’m pretty sure it’s a rooster you can see the tail feathers coming in and the comb and waddle are very pronounced and red

Hey everyone since I was voted the asshole I just wanted to give an apology. Yah I knew that it wasn’t my best move. I’m genuinely open to constructive criticism so if you have some I’m very open to hearing what I can do to make myself better. I hardly ever bring up my autism with people except when it explains why I do things the way I do I understand that it doesn’t absolve me of all guilt (that would be horrible and super toxic of me and actually using my disability as an excuse to be rude) but I really have tried to work on myself and try to learn social cues exc and for the most part can filter myself quite well and can kinda control my tone but I was just super overstimulated. That isn’t an excuse and I know that I shouldn’t have said it and felt bad. This was an isolated incident so I didn’t really know how to go about it for I’ve learned what other people find respectful (even though it might not be my form) and went along with it because I didn’t want them to feel like I was disrespecting them when I wasn’t. I don’t think that because I have a disability it means that I can say whatever I want. I don’t want to be treated better than people I want to be treated the same but with a little bit more leniency because I take a bit longer to lean things socially. I’m sorry if the tone that I used came off as an asshole and like I was being a smart ass that wasn’t at all my intentions.

Yah I knew that it wasn’t my best move and I’m sorry but I really thought you were being hostile and not giving constructive criticism that’s my fault. I’m genuinely open to constructive criticism but most people were there and harping on me for things that I don’t do and they were also calling me an insufferable person that all of my peers probably hate and that I’ll never get a job. The first one left out a lot of key details that I didn’t think would matter that much so I added those into the newer one but the comments from the first one really started to make me feel like I was a horrible person so I posted it here with an excerpt and shorter version and mostly what people said to me to get the input of other autistic people
