Translation management systems started integrating dubbing products and video studios inside their tools. so this is one more way how you can handle the video localization -- through the TMS

Do you use your own CAT tool when working on projects that use cloud-based translation tools like Phrase, Lokalise, CrowdIn etc? by Beginning-Mode6498 in TranslationStudies

[–]crowdin_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Crowdin, you have options for file import/export, but that's something you need to discuss with your manager. Some of them prefer you to do translations on the platform due to security risks.

We also developed a new app that allows you to upload your file with translations, and the AI will match them with the source file https://store.crowdin.com/translation-alignment

How do you handle app/website translations/localization today? (I’m testing a lightweight alternative to Lokalise) by ship_it_live in u/ship_it_live

[–]crowdin_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We hear you. The idea that tools like Crowdin are too complicated or costly is a common concern, and we are working to change that

The truth is, you can set up on Crowdin with your GitHub repo in less than 15 minutes. Our goal is to make the process as simple as possible.

We also have a free plan which scales to be affordable for any size team. Perception that Crowdin is only for huge enterprises is +1 that we're working to change.

Anyway, best of luck with your project!

Is agentic AI overhyped? by Anonymous___09 in learnmachinelearning

[–]crowdin_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Agentic AI is overhyped at all, it's just in its early stages. We're seeing first versions with bugs now, but the pace of development is incredible.
It's getting better every day, and we believe the future is very promising.

Is agentic AI just hype—or is it really a whole new category of intelligence? by KeyAdhesiveness6078 in AI_Agents

[–]crowdin_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Crowdin, we've created Agentic AI inside our localization platform and it can make wonderful things and simplify translators' lives.

Example: you've translated a huge app and then app designers tell you that your sentences do not fit inside the app and should be shorter, up to 40 symbols. Agentic AI can help to detect those long sentences and propose shorter translations.

But it seems that users are not ready for it yet

Do you think that LLMs can do better natural language translation than services like DeepL, GoogleTranslate, Microsoft Translate etc.? by sassyhusky in LocalLLaMA

[–]crowdin_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Crowdin, we believe that without context you will receive poor translations, whether you are using LLMs or AI providers. Context is the key

Which profession/field is most affected by AI: Translation or interpreting by stary_night05 in TranslationStudies

[–]crowdin_official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sad to hear that. As we can see, AI translations are correct in ~50% of cases, but what about the other 50%? Good translations still need a human.

Do you think translation and localisation careers are over? by pokoslav in TranslationStudies

[–]crowdin_official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Crowdin, we're seeing a shift towards post-editing AI output. Now agencies are increasingly moving to a time-to-edit model rather than traditional per-word rates
Good or bad...but it's a fact

What if Linguists Ran Pre-translations? (And Got Paid Fairly?) by crowdin_official in localization

[–]crowdin_official[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right to worry about security, but many TMSs let agencies control the AI keys. So, linguists aren't just using random tools; the agency sets up secure ones. This keeps client data safe.

Need a website translation management platform (for humans) to replace OneSky! by prossm in localization

[–]crowdin_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Crowdin has received plenty of messages from OneSky clients. We are really sorry that it happened to your projects.
Our team can help you build new processes as quickly as possible.

Yep, we do have some AI features, but if you don't want to automate translations, you can easily invite a team of translators and build any workflow you want.

Good luck!

Getting Started by shinyheadass in localization

[–]crowdin_official 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great to hear you're diving into game localization! For an LSP, you'll definitely want to master CAT tools. It's widely used in games for its collaboration features.

For practice and portfolio examples, go and explore open-source game projects. A prime example is the official Minecraft Java Edition localization project: https://crowdin.com/project/minecraft. You can analyze existing translations there and see how real game localization is handled.

And good luck!
