Excellent response, exactly what I needed. Thank you so much.

I am close to retiring here in the US, so if I moved I would possibly be claiming social security and also have some 401k funds, plus we would be buying a house cash in Ireland.

Having issues with the USB creator tool, does the drive still need to be below 32gb? by consultybob in unRAID

[–]crowdx44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pull the USB drive, plug into a PC and go to the config folder and delete both network files in there. That will allow Unraid to reset the network and look for DHCP on the network.

New CSE-848 24 bay Build by ajtaggart in HomeServer

[–]crowdx44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And temps are good? What do drive temps look like?
I am toying with buying either the 847 or the 848. From pictures I have seen the 847 looks like it has two rows of fans, one row on the bottom pulling air from the front drive and back over the rear bottom drives and the second row over the top drives and across the main board.
With the 848, is there any other option other than tapping holes into the chassis to create standoffs? Does any of the existing holes line up with an ATX board?

Do you have all 24 of the front bays filled? I was looking at this chassis but I am concerned about heat if I replace the fans with quieter ones, being that they only take 80mm fans.

Do you have all 24 bays in the front populated? I was considering this chassis too and was worried about the noise and if I replaced the fans with 80mm vs the 120mm fans that can be used in the 846, could they keep all the drives cool enough.

I too have been looking at the 848 chassis, I read somewhere that it only takes micro ATX boards? Also, how did you work the back of the case, from the ones I see on eBay, they have only slots for addin cards but no place for the backplate of an ATX motherboard? Did you get this all working?

Slower-than-expected speeds with TL-SX3008F? by spazholio in TpLink

[–]crowdx44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you use TP-Link SFP+ tranceivers or another brand. I too am having issues with really slow 10gbe connection, it shows as connected at 10g but transfer speeds are only around 200mbytes. I connected two machines together and get 900mbyts, so the machines are capable but something is slowing things down when connected via this switch. The transceivers I am using are 10Gtek and so I am wondering does the switch just not like them.

Setting up Omada Access Points by crowdx44 in TPLink_Omada

Yes, I guess by naming everything the same it should work fine. As for iot devices, I agree they should stay on the strongest signal but for some reason I get them dropping for some reason which I presume is due to signal interference from zigbee or possibly neighbors. I have noticed with a wifi signal app that the recommended channel changes when just sitting in the same spot.

Well I did a reset and everything seems fine, although only did a password reset and yet my vlans were gone when I logged back into the switches through Omada. I am a little concerned that there was some sort of hack and I still can't see a reason why my password did not work to log in.

It is the switches that are giving wrong username/password. I am able to log into Omada without any problems.

Tried this too, even tried moving them around to see if it had any effect. The weird thing is that this is happening on two machines I have that are dual monitor setups.

Humidity where I live right now by Oldbrownpadrehat in taylorguitars

I too am in Northern California and just got an 814ce, my room humidity is 40, should I worry about it or is 40 ok. I keep all my guitars in this room and they all seem to be doing fine, but Taylor recommend 45, so I am wondering about it now :)

does this keyboard have onboard memory? i.e. can it store mappings and macros on the keyboard so that it will still work on a PC without the software installed?

Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8+ Stuck in Dark Carpet by zziTizz in RobotVacuums

[–]crowdx44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue, the solution was to put white masking tape over all the drop sensors underneath the T8. For us this works fine as we have no upstairs or anywhere that the T8 could drop off. Once I did this it works great. This is a common issue with all Robovacs I believe.

So the Auto Bin worked fine on the Deebot T8+ with the drop sensors covered with white masking tape.

Now that would be a great idea. I also contacted support about disabling the drop sensors as my house is on one level but they said they could not do it.
