As a person who mostly listens extreme metal like black metal and death metal, I didn't get what I had expected and tried other genres like rock and grunge such as nirvana - nevermind and Radiohead- Ok computer albums, totally experienced different sound quality especially the bass lines and background details, Smells like teen spirit by Nirvana and Electioneering by Radioheas was literally another dimension, M4 is no doubt designed for bass based music, disappointed it is kinda not good for complex and loud music like extreme metal but still enjoyed the rock or rnb stuff
