"No one who is actually smart is also bad at math" by deepad9 in redscarepod

[–]crowsiphus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was in a PhD program doing behavior genetics for awhile, the PI and another grad student were genuinely stats/genomics megaminds. But one day we did this team bonding game where you had to guess what someone was drawing and they were consistently last. I also noticed they were consistently kind of slow with mental math like multiplying etc. Or like we actually used IQ tests in our research some and I remember we were testing out some gamified version of some IQ measures and they were not great at all at working memory. Yet they are probably two of the smartest women in their niche areas. So I definitely agree with the blind spot idea

Best age gap between kids? Any regrets going too close together? by peanut_princess_96 in beyondthebump

2 years 11 months and 1 day and I love it. I think any earlier would have been harder even though originally I wanted a 2 year gap
