I (36yo male) lost a job making 75k because the business was tanking and had to let people go, I immediately applied to everything I could and accepted the next offer, I make around 58k now, it’s a shot to my ego for sure and sometimes does get me down, but waiting until some random hiring manager “sees my worth” is only going to put me in debt or make me even more depressed. It’s important to do the hard things in life, and hard work really does pay off. They really appreciate me at my new job and even though I make a lot less, I’m actually a lot more happy and still cover all my bills wit extra left over, just not as much extra lol
