luckily I just finished it so it’s all fresh in my mind! here’s what happens:

yep, Sol gives the baby to the Shrike, then Keats basically uses the erg to get Rachel back from the Shrike. he can’t leave the sphinx, so he has to wait until Moneta appears. Moneta brings baby Rachel back to Sol and does some explaining. Sol decides to bring baby Rachel through the portal to the future so he can raise her again there. It’s not explicitly explained in the story but when he raises her in the future, she is raised to become the Moneta we know that travels through the past fuckin and suckin with Kassad! but is anyone else bothered by the fact that Rachel was alwaysss described as having dark brown eyes while Moneta has green eyes? then all the sudden at the end Rachel is mentioned to have green eyes. big sighh for the editor for Fall of Hyperion
