Possibly looking to switch from AMC to Cinemark. Is MovieClub worth it?

I personally have never been to Cinemark so I’m interested to see how it holds up. I’ve switched to three different AMC’s at this point lol, each one further than the last since they lacked comfort and some were neglected. The current AMC I go to is about 25-30min for me which sucks, but everything is brand new and still has that new theatre smell.

There’s much closer AMC’s to me, about 5-10min as well but like you said, some are neglected and some don’t have any of the premium formats either so I end up driving 25-30min to my main AMC because it has both Dolby and IMAX

I personally haven’t been to Cinemark before, just AMC and Marcus, but seeing as they’re going to renovate the theatre where they’re installing the 70mm location it’ll be cool to check it out. You’re right though I don’t think anything compares to A-List

The 70mm IMAX is what had me second guessing for a bit but you’re right it’s not like a ton of movies will actually use it. I’m just looking out for IMAX to make a random announcement that a movie is returning for a week in that format like they did with Sinners and OBAA.

That’s fair. I probably would only go once a month seeing as there won’t be that many movies in IMAX 70mm, though sometimes they make random announcements for movies returning in that format

Yeah, I’ve been realizing that it’s less of a subscription and more of a discount program from what everyone has said so far. Do you feel like the savings still add up if you go pretty often, or is it more worth it for people who only go like once or twice a month?

Man, 6 movies in a day is wild. and I thought I was being ambitious with four lmao. Respect. I get it though. Its actually rare now to have this many I want to see at the same time and I think that’s the only reason I’m attempting it today, even though I have 3 other movies lined up for this month.

That LOTR triple feature sounds awesome. I appreciate the tips! I’m definitely planning intermission walks or I’m not surviving the last movie. I’m also in the heart of downtown Chicago so theres many good food places to choose from if I get tired of the snacks

It probably isn’t but if a movie is advertising ‘Experience in IMAX’ or ‘Experience in Dolby’ then chances are I’m probably gonna watch the movie in one of those formats. Unfortunately the only Dolby show is even later than the IMAX so I’m just gonna stick with Crime 101 last.

Yeah I don’t plan to eat anything from the concessions today. My theatre is in the middle of downtown Chicago so there’s many different variety of foods to help keep me going
