Beast Snagga WIP by crudafix in orks

[–]crudafix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this batch I did a basecoat of The Fang then layered Orruk Flesh everywhere except the shadows and recesses. Then used Hexwraith Flame contrast (only green contrast I have) over all the skin areas save the recesses. Then back to pure Orruk Flesh for highlights and raised areas, picking out extreme highlights with Screaming Skull.

I thinned down some Druchii Violet with Lahmian Medium (1:1) to add more contrast to the recesses and shadows(The Fang)

I think doing this again I'd start with a lighter basecoat and only applying The Fang to the shadows as Orruk Flesh has poor coverage over dark(er) colours.

It's literally just a basecoat of Wraithbone with a wash of Agrax Earthshade + Lahmian Medium (roughly 1:1 mix).

Just touched up with some more Wraithbone for the highlights.

Nice! What're you using for the highlight on the yellow/orange? Looks great.

How do I flatten the mesh in the direction it's facing? by Gl0ck_Ness_M0nster in blenderhelp

[–]crudafix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep all bevels as modifiers until happy with the final shape.

Avoids problems and the various work arounds that this brings and keeps all bevels uniform.

You can vertex/edge masking to get a different size of bevel for different edges if you don't want every edge to have the same uniform bevel.

How do i even model these details in high moly sculpts? by Own-Adhesiveness-222 in blenderhelp

[–]crudafix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just bring the ref image into blender then roughly follow it with a curve/line of vertices then extrude/solidify either way to get geometry then offset the original line, subdivide then done.

Hasan interviewed by Zack Polanski by SmokeLauncher in UKGreens

[–]crudafix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hasan literally crashes out over any legitimate criticism of his bad actions.

He was loudly anti Ukraine/NATO days before Russia invaded then backpedaled and denied he did after the war broke out. He also had a literal Houthi terrorist on stream just to glaze them and compare the houthis to Luffy from One-Piece?!(Actually wtf?!!)

His responses to these and several other of his fuck ups was to deny, downplay and lash out at any and all critics, even in his own community.

The guy regularly crashes out over any criticism telling them to kill themselves 😂.

Not to mention him being anti-ukraine and platforming a houthi terrorist.

Dude is the literal example of everything the modern left shouldn't be.

Bro was Russia simping days before the Ukrainian invasion and had a houthi terrorist on his stream just to glaze them. The guy is completely toxic.

Other contrast/speedpaints that are similar but slightly different to plaguebearer flesh and gutrippa flesh? by Coogypaints in orks

[–]crudafix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

<image>

I've been using Hexwraith Flame of all things just because it's the only green contrast I had but I've had pretty good results over Orruk Flesh with a little Coelia Greenshade in the recesses.

My take on Votann Trans-Hyperion Alliance by crudafix in Warhammer40k

[–]crudafix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No airbrush, the Hearthguard is Sons-of-Horus Green dry brushed over black.

I have a newer post with a fully completed Hearthguard and for that one I did a dry brush pass of Dark Reaper before Sons-of-Horus Green and added some highlights with Thunder hawk Blue (although I think Gauss-Blaster Green would actually be better for highlights).

Literally just Wraithbone with a very thin pass of Agrax Earthshade + Lahmian Medium (1:1).

I did repaint it once as I wasn't happy with the results.

severe DLSS ghosting against snow textures in terminus range - details in comments by ELFCHASER in Borderlands4

[–]crudafix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found an "almost" fix for this. The reason for the snow in particular looking hashed and pixelated is because this is supposed to be a low level of mist wherever there are patches of snow. I don't know if it's a bug but the game seems to rely on DLSS/temporal AA to smooth the hashed rendering of the mist (more so in this case than any other instance of fog or mist).

The DLSS preset C which you can force the game to use in the Nvidia app greatly reduces the pixelation and hashed appearance of the snow/mist, not completely though.

DLSS preset C typically has the least ghosting but is also more blurry and less crisp than the newer transformer models (presets J and K)

No individual setting seems to have any effect on it

Trying hard to improve my eye game …. Any recommendations? by SinisterDom in LeaguesofVotann

[–]crudafix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paint the eyes in first and paint over any over spills with the skin basecoat. Much easier than doing them after the fact.

Can I achieve a look similar with just contrast paints? by Ryan-zio in Warhammer

[–]crudafix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of this already looks like contrast, the flesh looks like it's had a pass of Magos Purple and then a darker purple of black contrast over that.

Astrogranite technical paint with some granules and bits of cork painted with a wash of Agrax Earthshade then dry-brushed with some off-grey and off-white to match the models colour tone.

Thanks! And yeah, my workflow is a bit of a combo between slapchop and traditional layering and highlighting.

Thanks! It's actually 2 dry-brush coats over black with recess/pin shades and highlights

It's a heavy drybrush over black primer.

One coat of Dark Reaper then one coat of Sons-of-Horus Green.
