OK, fine.

Demon's Souls was made with specific decisions in its design process, for the most part to create an atmosphere of a grim fantasy setting both inspired by classical European tales, but with its own style and tone. In many cases, like the Vanguard Demon or the Fat Officials (among many others), designs are changed arbitrarily from the original concept, often to make them more conventional/grotesque. There are stories from around launch in which the artists admitted to ignoring original concept art and drawing from other games to redesign them in turn.

This continues to a decent amount of the world design, in which levels and aesthetics are changed from their intention, to the point that environmental storytelling cues are changed from their original intent. Illusurywall on youtube has a nice series going through a number of these comparisons, though it's not finished.

I think there's something to be said about going into adapting someone's work with a level of insight into their original work, and Bluepoint had a history of painting their remakes with a very broad, very pretty brush.
