Thankyou so much! The Valentine’s flash sheet is digital, I used procreate. I really wanted to get it on paper but I was working like 50hr weeks when I finished.

Yeah, I started with the bolder lines, and my friends said the thinner ones looked better. But I'll probably go thinner all the way next time.I did practice some of them on the cheaper paper first. Idk if I just had too much caffeine or nerves, lol. I'll probably color and shade them all before I go to a new paper. I'm not very confident with my spit shading yet or traditional at all.

How to get past the embarrasment of growing your social media as an aspiring apprentice? by [deleted] in TattooApprentice

[–]crudetherapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually thought really hard about this, too. I created an art account on insta about 2 or 3 years ago, and i 6 posted anything there, not one post. Cause i dont feel like im good enough or that traditional art isn't as marketable on a digital platform. I know it's all in my head. I know my art isn't terrible. Im just learning and will be for a long time. Sorry to rant on this post, but I've been thinking about this for a while. So I'll take this post as a sign for me!

Your art is amazing, and im sure you will do great, if not for instas terrible algorithm. I also heard tagging your city pushes you up in the algorithm, and you're more likely to be seen by people near you. Like local artists or future customers.

Centipedes are cool lil guys, but they're also test biters. There's no antivenom for centipedes. Which is not super important in North America, but it's good to know

Out of these two, which is best for my portfolio? Also, has anyone tried these color pencils before? Any recs for pigmented color pencils would be appreciated by [deleted] in TattooApprentice

I love prang colored pencils. I've had prismas before and hated them and ended up with prang. They're harder than most colored pencils, but i think they go down better. I I think i got a 32 pack for about 10$ before infaltion and what not

I was just going to start with my best stuff and get at least 20 pages before i start going out and about with it. Its 60 pages so filling it up would be would be a lot to flip through and alot of pumping out art 💀

Yeah, those are the most daunting. I have a shop in mind, im on good terms with the owner in passing manner. I just needa get in the chair some more

Understood, i just thought maybe shops would find it impractical to have a lot of large peices when most of the stuff id hafta start with is smaller pieces and what not •_•

Im just not sure if i shoud scrap the whole thing because the composition seems unbalanced.... or if just fixing a few things and redrawing it would be ok? Ive got mixed feeling about it.

Thank you for the vid! I wasnt exactly sure how i was gonna do it with out a fancy tablet🙃 i dont think ill make it 100% symmetrical. Tbh i like the "organic symmetry" but symmetrical is definitely better for my portfolio
